Timelapse Travel Videos: ‘Chasing The Storm II’ In The Central United States
Filmed and Edited by: Matt Hollamon
Finally is all I can say! This is unfortunately about 8 month later than I was hoping for, but given what has transpired since the start of the year and the fact I work in health care, I’m okay with it. While ideally I would prefer to have 2019 tied up before beginning to add 2020 content, I have say I am very pleased with how this turned out.
What can I say about 2019? Well, it was an incredible year! I had about 30 total chase days, and the film has sequences from April through September, and from 8 different states. The lightning and structure we fantastic and I was fortunate enough to witness 20 different tornadoes for the year, with a couple getting in the movie.
I found myself getting a bit more comfortable on some solo chases, however I still prefer to have a partner, because I don’t navigate great on the fly. I am hoping for one or two more chase days this year yet before getting to work on the 2020 film, but this whole process has been motivating and really given me that creative push that I needed after a global pandemic!
Travel & Nature Videos: Kerguelen Islands, France
Located 13,000 kilometres from the French mainland, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, the Kerguelen archipelago is home to a maritime nature reserve that has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2019. On land, thousands of elephant seals spend their days basking in the sun. The seabed, which has remained untouched, is teeming with rare fish. Hundreds, perhaps even thousands of organisms, have yet to be logged. FRANCE 24 takes you to discover this unique ecosystem.
The Kerguelen Islands, also known as the Desolation Islands, are a group of islands in the Antarctic constituting one of the two exposed parts of the Kerguelen Plateau, a large igneous province mostly submerged by the southern Indian Ocean.

Winery Profile Podcast: The Urban Wine Company, London, ‘CHATEAU TOOTING’

Monocle’s Georgina Godwin heads to southwest London to visit The Urban Wine Company, that harvests its bounty from vines across the city.

The Urban Wine Company™ was born out of an idea a few years back. Neighbours Richard and Paul were relaxing underneath a vine enjoying a glass of wine that had been flown half-way across the world. Realising they were sat in an urban garden of Eden surrounded by grape vines, they asked the impossible…
“Would it be possible to make a wine made from London grapes?”

So, in September 2009 they set about harvesting grapes grown in gardens, allotments, behind supermarkets and even at the side of railways. They teamed up with winemaking experts to produce the very first batch of ‘Chateau Tooting’. Pleasantly surprised, if not a little amazed by its ‘Drinkability’ The Urban Wine Company™ was formed. Not only had a fantastic tasting wine been created using grapes grown in a city centre, something unique had also been born.
Travel & Culture Video: ‘Mother Ganga’ – Ganges River, Varanasi, India (2020)
Filmed and Edited by: Tom Butler
Varanasi is chaotic, intense, and beautiful. The ancient city is situated on the banks of the River Ganges and is often considered the spiritual home of India. A place where you see and feel the morning and evening rituals, where pilgrimages are made to bathe in the holy waters at sunrise to purify, where many cremations take place along the river’s edge, and where it is believed moksha — an escape from the cycle of reincarnation — can be achieved. It was truly mesmerising to be in the presence of Mother Ganga and experience the weight of Varanasi first hand.
The Ganges (or Ganga is a trans-boundary river of Asia which flows through India and Bangladesh. The 2,704 km (1,680 mi) river originates from the Gangotri Glacier of western Himalayas in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, and flows south and east through the Gangetic Plain of India and Bangladesh, eventually emptying into the Bay of Bengal.
Varanasi is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh dating to the 11th century B.C. Regarded as the spiritual capital of India, the city draws Hindu pilgrims who bathe in the Ganges River’s sacred waters and perform funeral rites. Along the city’s winding streets are some 2,000 temples, including Kashi Vishwanath, the “Golden Temple,” dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva.
This film was shot back in February 2020, before the travel restrictions were in place due to the pandemic.
