Views: The ‘Floating Markets’ Of Indonesia

The floating markets in Indonesia are a collection of vendors selling various produce and product on boats. Floating markets initially are not created as tourist attractions, but as necessities in Indonesian cities that have large river especially in several cities and towns in  Kalimantan  and Sumatra. However, they have been promoted in the tourism itinerary, especially in Kalimantan cities. For example, the Siring floating market in Banjarmasin, and Lok Baintan floating market in Martapura are both located in South Kalimantan.

Caribbean Stays: Cap Maison On Saint Lucia

Cap Maison, an iconic boutique hotel on the North of the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia, is a perfect example.

Quietly understated with staff so full of joy, it was hard not to be swept along with the wonderful atmosphere, as you soak up  jaw-dropping views out to sea and bask in the sound of waves that are audible — and visible —  from the vast beds, fitted with cloud-like bedding.

The area is also home to a sinister place of remembrance: the former Nazi estate of Ordensburg Vogelsang, a training site for Nazi cadets during the Third Reich.Nicole’s trip to the Eifel took place in the fall of 2021. It begins in the picturesque medieval town of Monschau.

Views: Blue Mountain Lakes In Afghanistan

The winter landscape around the deep, blue mountain lakes of Band-e-Amir in the central Afghan province of Bamiyan presents an arresting spectacle empty of people – but the absence of visitors is costing locals dearly.

Band-e Amir, situated around 3,000 metres (9,840 ft) above sea level and a couple of hours drive from the renowned Buddhist sites of Bamiyan, usually attracts thousands of visitors a year seeking respite from the endless conflict.

All that changed this year as the Taliban swept through one province after another, culminating in the shock overthrow of the Western-backed government in Kabul in August and plunging the economy into crisis as vital foreign aid dried up.

Local’s Guide: Best Places To Eat, Drink And Stay In Dubrovnik, South Croatia

There are a lot of tourist traps in Dubrovnik, but there are a few gems. I go by what I believe is truly local; for example, Lady Pi-Pi in the Old Town. All its vegetables are from the Konavle valley, and the food is mainly grilled – very simple, good and tasty. It doesn’t have a website or Instagram, and doesn’t take reservations. There’s also Kopun in a wonderful setting by the Jesuit church, with a great wine list picked by its sommelier, Ana Bitanga. Its pašticada (braised beef) is a killer, and the truffle gnocchi is really good. I love the food markets in the old town and the much larger one in Gruž. It’s best to go early, about 8am, and you get to see all the seasonal changes in the produce.
