The Age Newspaper (May 28, 2023) – A walking guide to Paris. Under Mayor Anne Hidalgo, the city is becoming a paradise for pedestrians, with cars increasingly shut out of the city centre. Of course, Paris has always been a city made for strolling, from the long quais lining the River Seine to the elegant Haussmann boulevards. Here are three of our favourite walks through Paris’s most memorable neighbourhoods.

Enjoy the eye-catching architecture and one of Paris’s best food streets.

The 5th arrondissement: medieval streets and mint tea

Paris’s oldest district dates back to Roman times and has plenty of treasures tucked into its narrow winding streets.

To see Paris as she appears in the movies – rows of grand townhouses decorated with wrought-iron balconies, impeccably dressed dowagers walking their poodles – this is the destination of your dreams.

Travel: Kaimana Islands In West Papua, Indonesia (4K)

TOP 100 Travel Films (May 28, 2023) – Kaimana Regency contains over 500 separate offshore islands, spread over the five districts with coastlines. Kaimana District includes at least 280 islands, of which the largest are Pulau Namatota, Pulau Aiduma and Pulau Dramai.

There are at least 62 islands in Teluk Etna District, of which the largest is Pulau Kayumerah. Teluk Arguni Bawah District includes 31 islands. There are 14 islands in Buruway District, of which the largest are Pulau Adi (the regency’s largest offshore island, including the village of Manggawitu) and Pulau Kelimala. Kambrau District includes 4 islands.

Travel In Tuscany: Pisa In Northwestern Italy (4K)

Wanderizm Films (May 27, 2023) – Pisa is a city in Italy’s Tuscany region best known for its iconic Leaning Tower. Already tilting when it was completed in 1372, the 56m white-marble cylinder is the bell tower of the Romanesque, striped-marble cathedral that rises next to it in the Piazza dei Miracoli.

Also in the piazza is the Baptistry, whose renowned acoustics are demonstrated by amateur singers daily, and the Caposanto Monumentale cemetery.

A book co-edited by Lynn Gumpert, director of the Grey Art Gallery at NYU, is shaking up preconceptions about the contribution of American artists in France following World War II. We asked her about this little-known period, when Paris was still as much a hub of artistic creativity as New York City.

FRANCE 24 (May 25, 2023) – In a small village deep in central France, the same family has run the “La Promenade” restaurant for four generations. The story began in 1960, when Lucienne created a small bistro. Then Jacky, the son, took over and won the first Michelin star in 1989.

Today, the grandson Fabrice watches over this mecca of French gastronomy, and now his son Clément is studying for his chef’s diploma. “La Promenade” is a moving family story, whose finest pages are perhaps yet to be written.

Travel: A Tour Of Trogir In Southwestern Croatia

Massimo Nalli (May 25, 2023) – Trogir is historically known as Traù is a historic town and harbour on the Adriatic coast in Dalmatia and the historic centre has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites for its Venetian architecture.

In 1123 Trogir was conquered and almost completely demolished by the Saracens. However, Trogir recovered in a short period to experience powerful economic prosperity in the 12th and the 13th centuries, with some autonomy under Venetian leadership. In 1420 the period of a long-term Venetian rule began and lasted nearly four centuries, when Traù (as the city was called by the Venetians) was a city with rich economy, as exemplified by numerous Renaissance works of art and architecture. On the fall of Venice in 1797,

Traù became a part of the Habsburg Empire, which ruled over the city until 1918, with the exception of Napoleon Bonaparte’s French rule from 1806 to 1814 (when the city was part of the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy and Illyrian Provinces). After World War I, Trogir, together with most parts of Dalmatia, became a part of the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs and subsequently the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Trogir has 2300 years of continuous urban tradition. Its culture was created under the influence of the ancient Greeks, and then the Romans, and Venetians.
