Travel & Culture Video: ‘Portrait Of Kazakh Eagle Hunter’ In Mongolia
Directed and filmed by | Matteo Poddie
Could ever exist a bond of respect and love between an eagle and a human?
The ancient art of eagle hunting is one of the many traditions and skills which have been maintained by the Kazakhs over the past decades. For more than two centuries, Mongolian Kazakh men have been hunting on their horses with golden eagles, trained following old traditions which are fading over time.
This Art needs the development of a deep bond between man and his eagle in order to accomplish a successful hunt.
An interview to one of the remained descendants of this minority, who tries to spread and preserve this ancient practice, through love and sense of belonging to his roots. The eagle hunting would otherwise be facing the risk of disappearing forever with the development of the modern world.
It is outstanding how these birds still play a paramount role for these people’s lives.

Hiking Video: Pulpit Rock & Preikestolen In Norway
Preikestolen, Pulpit Rock, Hiking the most Iconic landmark and views in Norway and Scandinavia. Raised 604m/1982ft from the water of Lysefjord in Ryfylke, Rogaland it is one of the most spectacular sights in Norway, if not the world.
To get to the trailhead I needed to the drive through the Ryfast tunnel, the worlds longest and deepest sub sea tunnel. I have included a 2 minute Time Warp video of the tunnel drive in the video. Filmed in 5k on GoPro Hero 9. A very different experience from backpacking in the Sierra Nevada, Sequoia Kings Canyon, Utah, Yellowstone National Park and similar in the USA, but the views and feeling in your gut will equal the feeling of looking over the edge towards Lone Pine on top of Mount Whitney or Mt Langley in California or Angels Landing in Zion National Park, Utah. Maybe even Grand Viewpoint in the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Enjoy and have a happy thanksgiving celebration!

91 Ram Island Drive is the culmination of twenty years of work by internationally renowned architect William Pedersen. A triumph of contemporary design and expertly crafted by Wright and Company Construction, the house sits on almost 3 acres of rolling native meadow that gently slopes onto over 220 feet of pristine beach, with Gardiners Bay beyond.
Based on a multi-axis linear framework and emphasizing the contrasting textures of the primary building materials of concrete, wood, copper and bluestone, the structure is at once both awe-inspiring and effortlessly comfortable. Set at the convergence of three distinct landmarks – the lighthouse in Gardiners Bay, Gardiners Island and the entrance to Coecles Harbor – an unparalleled 360-degree panoramic view unfolds in front of the property.
The house itself seems to rise like an island from the water, as was the conceptual inspiration for the design. Clad in stone and sheets of standing seam copper, the 3-bedroom residence offers an open flow between the public spaces at the heart of the home, the expansive outdoor entertaining areas that define the summer lifestyle and the long passageway of the private bedroom wing. Singular in design and function, 91 Ram Island Drive is, in every sense, a habitable work of art.
