New Aerial Travel Videos: “Serenity” Above Europe By Vadim Sherbakov (2020)

Created and Directed by: Vadim Sherbakov

“Serenity” is a non-narrative short drone film, produced with the unique camera angle, facing straight down at -90º at the wonderful texture of earth landscapes. Because of this and the subjects it captures, you can watch this film both horizontally or vertically. Here is a horizontal version, but you can see the vertical one, on my Instagram or IGTV.

The film itself is a 3 minutes blend of total tranquility and calmness that allows you to escape reality for just a short while. Shot in different places on earth such as Iceland, Norway, Spain, Portugal, Belarus and Russia, it shows the unique and gorgeous landscape at an unusual angle. So bring up the volume or put on headphones and immerse in it.

Profiles: The Family Reviving “Noble & Murat” Port – “Foot Treading” And “Chestnut Barrels”

Antonio Taveira’s family breathes new life into the illustrious Noble & Murat brand whose tradition as a port house started over a century and half ago in 1831 as one of the first bottlers to mention “LBV” on their label.

The family has a long history of precision hand-harvesting, distinguished sourcing and methodical vinification. For decades they have provided grapes for Taylor’s, Croft, Sandeman’s among others, but now they have decided to keep the best grapes for their own wines.

Restaurants: Lisbon Chef João Sá Of SÁLA – “Flavors Are Rhythms Of Seasons”

Monocle 24’s “The Menu” talks to Lisbon’s rising culinary talent, João Sá, owner and chef of SÁLA.

Chef João Sá
Chef João Sá

It is called SÁLA and it bears the Chef surname because here he wants to receive us as if it were the dinning room of his own house. An intimate space, where the open kitchen invites you to know the chef’s suggestions. Here the flavors will go on to the rhythm of the seasons. In a room that will seat 34 diners with a cleaned and luminous portuguese interior design.

The space is dominated by light and bright wood. This Pombaline room recovered by the ForStudio architecture studio highlights a decorative element, a central area in brushed brass. This element ties in perfectly with the other colors present in the menu and in other remarks: gold over blue.

The kitchen has been going through the life of João Sá since forever. At 12 he was already creating gastronomic events at school and at age 14, his interest in everything that was practical and manual took him to the Estoril Turism and Hospitality  School. It was an early entry into the demanding kitchen world and the path was intense and pulse-free.

Modified Classic Cars: Lisbon-Based “COOL & VINTAGE” Built A Cult Following For Its “RestoMod” Land Rovers

From a Classic Driver online article:

Classic Driver CoolNVintageOf course, Cool & Vintage is one of hundreds of companies building Land Rover ‘restomods’, but it’s forged its premier reputation for two reasons: the unparalleled quality of its work and its aesthetic positioning. “I’ve always thought that the Land Rover is among the greatest pieces of industrial design, so it was never my intention to mess around with it too much. We try to stay true to its shape and its history while adding our own creative twist, which could be anything from a bright colour to a more aggressive stance.” Ricardo initially wanted to fuse his vision of the quintessential beach car with a southern European summer vibe.

Over the last seven years, Cool & Vintage has created an aesthetic for its tastefully modified classic Land Rovers that is instantly recognisable among its cult following around the world. We thought it was high time to pay a visit to its Lisbon hipster haven…

Sun-drenched beachscapes, beautiful surfing girls and the most immaculate old Land Rovers you’ve ever seen – it must be Cool & Vintage. This vision of fantasy has garnered the Lisbon-based restoration company, which has been putting its unique twist of Defenders and Series models since 2012, something of a cult following Land Rover buffs and hipsters alike.
