Travel & Adventure: Cara Delevingne & Bear Grylls In Sardinia, Italy (Video)

Cara Delevingne realizes a dream of accompanying Bear Grylls on an adventure. Sweeping Cara off her scooter and into a helicopter, Bear leads Cara up the mountains of Sardinia. At nearly a mile high in elevation, Bear shows Cara how to brave several heart-stopping obstacles, including pulling herself across a horizontal line suspended 200 feet in the air and rappelling down a dangerous waterfall.

Sardinia is a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea. It has nearly 2,000km of coastline, sandy beaches and a mountainous interior crossed with hiking trails. Its rugged landscape is dotted with thousands of nuraghi – mysterious Bronze Age stone ruins shaped like beehives. One of the largest and oldest nuraghi is Su Nuraxi in Barumini, dating to 1500 B.C.

I’ll go about camp chores and town chores in the nearby town of Lone Pine. Come explore Whitney Portal Road to the top where there is a frozen waterfall. Diwali is India’s biggest and most important holiday of the year, observed by more than a billion people across faiths. Known as the Festival of Lights, it is a 5-day celebration bringing prayer, feasts, fireworks, family gatherings and, for some, a new year.

Derived from the Sanskrit “dipavali”, which means “row of lights,” Diwali is known for the brightly burning clay lamps that celebrants line up outside their homes to cherish the victory of good over evil. With this year’s coronavirus pandemic affecting the celebration, may we be able to derive comfort from the spirit of the holiday—the belief that, eventually, light will triumph over darkness.

This film summarises our 10 days trip to the dolomites, followed by some 5 days or so in Cinque Terre. Only on our last day I had the idea for the notebook and how to tie the whole story together, so we filmed those parts on our last afternoon, and I called up Luca whom I’d met spontaneously through Instagram and who had come to the famous Seceda-2500 with us, and asked him if he was okay with narrating the story.

It was early autumn of 2019, I was anchored behind an island when the name Live to Sea came to mind. It was the perfect description of what I do, of what all of us surfers do in some way. Live to Sea is for anyone and everyone who feels connected to the ocean, sea or any waters. For me this film is a tribute to the missions and moments that went unseen. As Bjorn and I push through thickets of devil’s club and trundle over chest-high nurse logs, the trees seem to grow before our eyes. The forest stands as a witness to the passage of time, and a nearby stream as a lifeline to the past.

The saplings at the confluence of the stream mark the present, while the giant spruce and hemlock at its source likely predate the European colonization of the Americas — so that the only humans who could have witnessed the birth of this stand of trees are the area’s Tlingit and Haida peoples.

It’s late April 2019, and my traveling companion, Bjorn Dihle, and I are on a four-day, 30-mile excursion through the heart of Prince of Wales Island along the Honker Divide Canoe Route, the island’s longest trail. We have forgone the canoes and opted for packrafts due to their size and weight; they’re easier to schlep over logs and across the many short portages.

Based on the North Shore of O’ahu, IMPRINT is the story of two souls, whose lives have intertwined with the ocean. Shane Hamamoto, who has lost the ability to spearfish and dive, from barometric trauma now expresses his passion for the ocean through Gyotaku – the traditional art of Japanese fish printing.

Alicia Holland, a young spearfisher woman from the Big Island of Hawai’i, has taken her love for the ocean to support her family and as an outlet through nature. She recognizes that she is growing up in an age of abundance and grocery stores – the aching unnaturalness of modern amenities has had her resort back to the thrill of the hunt.

We follow her life as she navigates the taboos and rewards associated with spearfishing.

Alejo and Andrea started exploring alternative lifestyles when they quit their jobs in Miami and started travelling in a travel trailer, but after falling in love with kite boarding, they realized that life on the water would be a better fit, and they moved onto a catamaran sailboat so they could chase the wind every day!

For work, they own a pet supply company called Mokai, which they are able to operate remotely, and they also have a YouTube channel where they share videos about their daily lives.
