After many visits to Swedish Lapland my love for the area just keeps on growing, there is few places on earth where I feel so at home.
I have done many helicopter flights in these regions of Swedish Lapland, mostly for photography. Everytime i pass certain areas it just takes my breath away and i’ve always wondered what it would be like down there. So i decided to try to reach it . Unfortunately it’s not so easy to reach by foot so we went Helicamping and we spent an unforgettable evening out in Rittak, Swedish Lapland.
Lappland, often anglicised as Lapland, is a province in northernmost Sweden. It borders Jämtland, Ångermanland, Västerbotten, Norrbotten, Norway and Finland. Nearly a quarter of Sweden’s land area is in Lappland. Lappland originally extended eastward.

Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, encompasses 14 islands and more than 50 bridges on an extensive Baltic Sea archipelago. The cobblestone streets and ochre-colored buildings of Gamla Stan (the old town) are home to the 13th-century Storkyrkan Cathedral, the Kungliga Slottet Royal Palace and the Nobel Museum, which focuses on the Nobel Prize. Ferries and sightseeing boats shuttle passengers between the islands.

Kattegat is the name given to the large sea area situated between Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. Thanks to Vikings, many people assume Kattegat is a village in Norway but this is not the case. Sweden borders the Kattegat to the East, Denmark to the southwest, and Norway to the northwest. The bottom of the Kattegat leads to the baltic sea to the Skagerrak, which connects to the North Sea. There are several large cities and major ports in the Kattegat area, including Gothenburg, Aarhus, Aalborg, Halmstad and Frederikshavn. The main islands of the Kattegat are Samsø, Læsø, and Anholt – Samsø has a population of approximately 4,000 people each whereas Læsø and Anholt remain uninhabited. The name Kattegat comes from the old Dutch term for the words “Cat”, “hole” or ‘throat.”

“This journey has been long and beautiful. A journey that I feel in many ways has just begun; the majority of which remains undocumented due to the mystical nature and spontaneity of the Baltic Sea. It was early autumn of 2019, I was anchored behind an island when the name Live to Sea came to mind. It was the perfect description of what I do, of what all of us surfers do in some way. Live to Sea is for anyone and everyone who feels connected to the ocean, sea or any waters. For me this film is a tribute to the missions and moments that went unseen. Most importantly it is a tribute to the magic of nature and the sea. “
Fäviken: 4015 Days, Beginning to End is a vital commentary on food culture today and includes illuminating essays on subjects as wide ranging as creativity; balancing familial responsibilities while running a restaurant; the hypocrisy of sustainability in restaurants; the search for lagom; social media; imitation vs. plagiarism; haute cuisine; the art of hospitality; and the importance of craft over innovation.
In 2019, Magnus Nilsson closed Fäviken, his one-of-a-kind restaurant in remote Sweden – a difficult decision, as it was close to his heart and at the height of its success. Here is the Fäviken story: how it became a world-class destination, how the industry it was a part of has changed, and why Magnus eventually elected to pursue new projects.
The book also includes a chronological list of every dish ever served at the restaurant and highlights 100 memorable recipes. The book’s stunning photography includes a mixture of archival photographs and newly shot images of the food, the restaurant, the staff, and the surrounding setting of Northern Sweden.
