Hey friends, I have been working on a bunch of new videos during this time in Quarantine due to Covid 19. Today I want to share some of my favorite scenes shot around California over the years. Some memories of incredible moments out in nature in my home state.

I learned how to take photos here and spent most of my early career photographing these spots. California holds a special place in my heart. I have always appreciated the beautiful diversity of landscapes from the Dramatic Yosemite cliffs to the colorful rock formations in Death Valley. I know things are tough right now and I hope some of these scenes brighten up your day a bit!
The locations featured in this short film are Mount Wilson, Lone Pine, Death Valley National Park, Yosemite National Park, La Jolla, Ridgecrest, Mono Lake, San Francisco Coastline, Santa Barbara, Folsom Lake, The White Mountains, Davenport,

Across the Land is a compilation of timelapse sequences shot across Canada in 2017 and is part of a cinematographic installation project called Across the Land. The film explores Canadian landscapes where technological modernity and natural spaces intersect.
When shooting a one shot film across Canada (see other videos) my camera assistant and I drove an average of 6-8 hours a day and would often stop to shoot a few time-lapse shots on the roadside if we saw something of interest. We’d also take advantage of the morning/evening light around one of the many campgrounds we would stay at. This resulted in hundreds of gigabites of raw image sequences by the time we finished the 9000km journey. I edited this film with imagery shot during the project and cut in a few shots I captured over the years to help tie some of the scenes together. View the project, more time-lapse videos, behind the scenes, GIFs, and stills at the following link.
In Ciao, Testino handpicks his favorite images of Italy, a country that has featured heavily in his life, from his friendships and breathtaking vistas to quintessentially Italian iconic fashion shoots and Italians’ ever-evolving allure to their effervescent lifestyle. Featuring three sections, IN GIRO (out and about), ALLA MODA (in fashion), and AL MARE (at sea), the result is a highly personal journey across the country through Testino’s lens paying homage to Italy, and it’s culture as well as a chronicle of 40 years of genre-defining photography.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential fashion and portrait photographers, Mario Testino is responsible for the creation of emblematic images, transmitting emotion and energy in an open and intimate way. Throughout his four-decade career, Testino has been on a journey beyond the world of fashion capturing Earth’s traditions and cultures with unparalleled access and an extraordinarily unique point of view.

Peruvian by birth, Testino’s intimate connection to Italy found its roots in his Italian heritage, but blossomed when he experienced the country for himself. Discovering Italy was, for Testino, synonymous with discovering his passion for fashion. “Rome was all about the hottest, latest trends and fresh new styling, and I loved the way Italians could shed the latest look for an even newer thing without ever losing their own identity.”

Iberá National Park in northeastern Argentina is part of one of the largest wetlands in South America, but much of its wildlife went extinct in the 20th century due to widespread hunting and habitat loss. Now, a dedicated team of conservationists is working hand in hand with local communities to reintroduce many of the keystone species that were lost, while also helping to preserve the region’s unique cultural heritage.
