In this behind-the-schnes tour, we’re shedding more light on the castle’s links to colonialism in India by looking at items in the collection and telling the stories of how they came to be here. FINE ARTS: 4K VIDEO TOUR – THE VAN GOGH MUSEUM “COLOR IN WHEAT FIELDS”

The Wheat Fields is a series of dozens of paintings by Vincent van Gogh, borne out of his religious studies and sermons, connection to nature, appreciation of manual laborers and desire to provide a means of offering comfort to others. The wheat field works demonstrate his progression as an artist from the drab Wheat Sheaves made in 1885 in the Netherlands to the colorful, dramatic paintings from Arles, Saint-Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise of rural France.

Exhibition Tour: British Illustrator Aubrey Beardsley (Tate Britain)

Although our galleries are temporarily closed we wanted to share the Aubrey Beardsley exhibition at Tate Britain with you. Join Tate curators Caroline Corbeau-Parsons and Alice Insley as they discuss the iconic illustrator’s short and scandalous career.

Before his untimely death aged twenty-five, Beardsley produced over a thousand illustrations. He drew everything from legendary tales featuring dragons and knights, to explicit scenes of sex and debauchery. His fearless attitude to art continues to inspire creatives more than a century after his death.

Art: Virtual Exhibition Tour Of “Picasso And Paper” (Royal Academy)

Experience our Picasso and Paper exhibition from your own home in this video tour of the galleries, created before the Royal Academy had to close its doors due to coronavirus.

Picasso didn’t just draw on paper — he tore it, burnt it, and made it three-dimensional. From studies for ‘Guernica’ to a 4.8-metre-wide collage, this exhibition brings together more than 300 works on paper spanning the artist’s 80-year career.

New Travel Videos: “The Ancient Egyptian Exhibits Of The British Museum”

Watch this mini 14-minute tour of the Ancient Egyptian antiquities of the British Museum. Footage was taken in March 2020, one hour before closing time so I was limited in the relics I could see and record. I’ve focussed on the relics of Ancient Egypt, as well as ancient Assyrian exhibits and the enigmatic basalt Easter Island statue.

I show you first-hand the colossal statues of Egyptian pharaohs Amenhotep I and III, Thutmose I, III and IV, Ramesses II, the hugely important Rosetta Stone, a fragment of the beard from the Great Sphinx, the Assyrian reliefs that showcase the famous ‘handbags’ and an ancient Moai statue from Easter Island.

Some come and take this mini tour with Matt from Ancient Architects and please subscribe, like and comment below. All footage is taken by Matt Sibson and is owned by the Ancient Architects Channel.
