Sequoia National Park is adjacent to Kings Canyon National Park in California’s southern Sierra Nevada mountains. It’s known for its huge sequoia trees, notably the General Sherman Tree dominating the Giant Forest. The underground Crystal Cave features streams and striking rock formations. Moro Rock is a granite dome offering sweeping park views. Nearby is the Tunnel Tree, a toppled tree cut to accommodate the road.

Beautiful Nature Reserve in Israel. Ayun River is a perennial stream and a tributary of the Jordan River. The stream originates from two springs in the Marjayoun valley in southern Lebanon, runs southward for seven kilometers through various irrigation ditches, then flows into Israel near Metulla, where it continues through the Hula Valley in the Galilee Panhandle until emptying in the Hasbani River just before it reaches the Jordan River.
Cara Delevingne realizes a dream of accompanying Bear Grylls on an adventure. Sweeping Cara off her scooter and into a helicopter, Bear leads Cara up the mountains of Sardinia. At nearly a mile high in elevation, Bear shows Cara how to brave several heart-stopping obstacles, including pulling herself across a horizontal line suspended 200 feet in the air and rappelling down a dangerous waterfall.
Sardinia is a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea. It has nearly 2,000km of coastline, sandy beaches and a mountainous interior crossed with hiking trails. Its rugged landscape is dotted with thousands of nuraghi – mysterious Bronze Age stone ruins shaped like beehives. One of the largest and oldest nuraghi is Su Nuraxi in Barumini, dating to 1500 B.C.
Exploring the Embarcadero in Downtown San Diego, California. Downtown San Diego is the city center of San Diego, California, the eighth largest city in the United States. The Embarcadero in San Diego, California is the area along the San Diego harbor on the east side of San Diego Bay. “Embarcadero” is a Spanish word meaning “boarding place”. The Embarcadero is home to the San Diego cruise ship terminal, the museum ships USS Midway at Navy Pier and Star of India, seven other historic vessels belonging to the San Diego Maritime Museum, and various restaurants and shops from the North Embarcadero down through Seaport Village.
This walk was filmed on August 5th, 2020 starting at 12:00pm. Vernazza is the 4th town of the Cinque Terre when hiking from Riomaggiore up to Monterosso. This was by far my favorite town of the Cinque Terre.
Vernazza is one of the 5 centuries-old villages that make up the Cinque Terre, on northwest Italy’s rugged Ligurian coast. Colorful houses surround its small marina. The Santa Margherita di Antiochia Church has a bell tower topped by an elegant cupola. Clinging to the rocks, Doria Castle is a medieval defensive structure with a cylindrical tower. The Belforte bastion is just below it.
Gran Canaria is one of Spain’s Canary Islands, off northwestern Africa. It’s known for its black lava and white sand beaches. Its southern beaches include bustling Playa del Inglés and Puerto Rico as well as quieter Puerto de Mogán and San Agustín. In the north, capital city Las Palmas is a major stop for cruise ships and duty-free shopping. The island’s interior is rural and mountainous.
Cromer is a coastal town and civil parish on the north coast of the English county of Norfolk. It is approximately 23 miles north of the county town of Norwich, 116 miles north-northeast of London and 4 miles east of Sheringham on the North Sea coastline.
Cromer is a traditional Victorian seaside resort, with a sand and shingle beach popular for swimming and surfing. Many of the buildings in the town date back to the Victorian era, although the town has expanded rapidly in the last fifty years. Some shelter is provided by the pier, which houses a theatre and gardens.Cromer beach and pier are part of the quintessentially Victorian seaside resort of Cromer, on the popular North Norfolk coast. Just along the road from Sheringham and West Runton, and just around the corner from Overstrand, Cromer beach, just like many other Norfolk beaches, has so much to offer, from the little fun fair on the promenade to a museum on the beach front, to the wonderful iconic Pier with its Pavilion Theatre and lifeboat station at the end. Never a dull moment.

The Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney is a heritage-listed major 30-hectare botanical garden, event venue and public recreation area located at Farm Cove on the eastern fringe of the Sydney central business district, in the City of Sydney local government area of New South Wales, Australia.

As the Sun disappears for several weeks in November and never to show up again before January, Arctic Norway prepares for the long polar nights. With them, the dramatic landscapes take on a very magical appearance as the arrival of cold and humid conditions clothes everything with ice crystals.
It seems, however, that the episodes of frost are becoming less and less numerous due to climate change and the strengthening of the Gulf stream bringing relentless mild temperatures, which in turn melt away the snow and the frost. This year has been particularly mild, but here and there, we were treated to a fleeting coat of sparkly white ice. Between pastel colors of fiery sunsets, the dance of the famous aurora borealis to glow from the night sky, the ice crystal shine and behave in a different way.
The main focus of this short film was obviously the recording of frost throughout the various landscape of northern Norway (Troms region). Unfortunately, the frost hasn’t been strong enough to show fully grown crystals, so the main interest was the thin layer of ice enveloping grass, twigs, branches, rocks, but also the small lakes beginning to freeze over. The out of focus / medium format macro techniques were used a lot in the film to amplify the diffraction of moonlight into ice crystals and reveal their twinkling. Camera motion along ramps also participated in getting this effect. Shooting macro at night is far from being the simplest, as lots of light is required to compensate for the very narrow aperture used to gain depth of field. Some sequences were shot at f/9-14 so moonlight was indispensable.

All was shot with the Sony a7s, a7rII and 2 Canon 6D astromodified, a variety of bright lenses ranging from 14mm to 50mm. For motion control I used the Syrp 3-axis Genie I system and also the Vixen Polarie. All post production was made in Lr with the special timelapse plus plugin, Sequence for mac, TLDF, and final production was made in FCPX.
