Portugal Lagos Algarve is an incredible region displaying breathtaking landscapes. We were based in Lagos Portugal, which is a very pleasant coastal city and very convenient to travel all the Algarve.
Lagos is a town in southern Portugal’s Algarve region. It’s known for its walled old town, cliffs and Atlantic beaches. Steep wooden steps lead to the sandy cove of Praia do Camilo. The nearby cliffs of Ponta de Piedade offer sweeping headland views and a lighthouse. Igreja de Santo António, an ornate 18th-century church, sits across from the Castelo dos Governadores, a castle with a baroque facade and watchtowers.
Travel: ‘Venice, Italy’ (2020)
Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.

Cocktails With A Curator: Vermeer’s “Mistress And Maid” (The Frick Video)
In this week’s episode of “Cocktails with a Curator,” Curator Aimee Ng pulls back the curtain on hidden details in “Mistress and Maid,” the largest of the Frick’s three Vermeer paintings and Henry Clay Frick’s final acquisition for his collection. Take a closer look at the rumpled tablecloth, the lady’s wispy curls, and the dark background to understand how this mysterious work has changed since Vermeer applied paint to canvas in the mid-17th century. For this week’s complementary cocktail, the Genever Brûlée, Aimee has dipped into the bottle of genever she featured in her summer episode on Vermeer’s “Officer and Laughing Girl.”

Boat Design: The New ‘Castagnola Heritage 9.9’ – The Ultimate Chase Boat
Castagnola Heritage 9.9: A boat that combines the timeless taste of the handcrafted wooden construction with the advantages of a cutting-edge material such as carbon fiberglass. Conceived as a chase boat for big superyachts or as a weekend cruiser for limited range trips, the Castagnola Heritage 9.9 has a Nauta Design general concept and exterior and interior design. Francesco Rogantin’s Studio Names provided the naval architecture and structural engineering, while construction is by Castagnola Yacht. The Heritage 9.9 is available in both Open and Hard Top versions. The very first unit presented is the Open version. The deep “V” shaped planing hull, designed by Francesco Rogantin’s Studio Names, has excellent performance characteristics. The hull shape was CFD tested and thanks to careful monitoring during the construction process the boat weighs less than 6 tons. With two 320HP Yanmar engines and equipped with pods, the Heritage 9.9 has a cruising speed of 34 knots, top speed of 40 knots and a range of 170 NM at 30 knots. Sea trials confirmed the Heritage 9.9’s smooth and stable movement through the water and its excellent maneuverability even at high speeds. The on board experience is stable, quiet and comfortable and the cockpit stays completely dry even in choppy conditions.
