Desenzano del Garda is a resort town on the southern shore of Lake Garda, in northern Italy. The remains of the Roman Villa include elaborate mosaic floors. The Antiquarium is home to artifacts excavated at the villa, such as kitchenware and lamps. In a former convent, the Rambotti Archaeological Museum displays items from the Paleolithic to the Bronze Age, including a plow. Desenzano Castle has sweeping lake views.

“We wanted the interior to act as a canvas for natural light and convey an overall appearance of lightness…”

Stainless steel counters, aluminum lightwells, and whitewashed pine walls and ceilings help create a feeling of lightness—perfectly suited for a floating home on water.
Following a long tradition of floating homes in Seattle, the dwelling is located on the north end of Lake Union, in a spot called Portage Bay.
It was built on top of a log-float foundation dating to the early 1900s. The home sits close to the shore and has access to a garden.

Cannenburg Castle or Cannenburch Castle is a watercastle in the Netherlands. It is situated in Vaassen, a town in the province of Gelderland.
The castle was built in the 16th century. Its shape has been preserved until today mainly unchanged. The building complex which contains many elements of the Renaissance architecture is completely surrounded by water. The floor plan is rectangular. There are almost square and covered towers at all four corners. The northeasterly one is equipped with an onion dome. On the front side facing south, another higher onion dome was built. This one significantly protrudes from the facade was. Directly above the entrance the coat of arms of Hendrik van Isendoorn and his wife Sophia Stommel are embedded in a sandstone sculpture. Above another sandstone sculpture shows Maarten van Rossum. The entrance used to be reached via a drawbridge over the moat. This was replaced by a permanent stone arch bridge.
