Scenic Drives: Canton Of Bern In Switzerland (4K)

A beautiful autumn day that we spent on a wonderful route in the Swiss Alps. A road where you meet the wonderful landscape of the Alps and at the end of which you are greeted by a beautiful restaurant called Pochtenfall. The route was: Spiez – Aeschi bei Spiez – Aeschiried – Pochtenfall.

The canton of Bern or Berne is one of the 26 cantons forming the Swiss Confederation. It is composed of ten districts and its capital city is Bern which is also the federal city of Switzerland. The bear is the heraldic symbol of the canton, displayed on a red-yellow background.

Swiss Hikes: The Village Of Grindelwald (4K)

Grindelwald, a village in Switzerland’s Bernese Alps, is a popular gateway for the Jungfrau Region, with skiing in winter and hiking in summer. It’s also a base for mountain-climbing ascents up the iconic north face of Eiger Mountain. Gletscherschlucht, a glacial gorge just outside Grindelwald, features paths with interpretive signage, waterfalls and striated limestone walls.

Lungern is a municipality in the canton of Obwalden in Switzerland. It encompasses Lake Lungern and, besides the village of Lungern, the settlements of Bürglen, Kaiserstuhl and Obsee.

Lake Lungern is a natural lake in Obwalden, Switzerland which is named after the town Lungern on its shore. The lake is drained by the Sarner Aa river, which flows through the Sarnersee and into Lake Lucerne. The lake was originally much larger, and covered a large part of the valley it is situated in.

The tenth edition of Passione Engadina has come to an end, presenting an incredible parterre of vintage Italian cars all gathered in the splendid setting of St. Moritz and the Graubünden passes. For this edition, the guest of honour was Ferrari, thanks to the collaboration with Kessel. To celebrate the tenth edition together with Ronnie Kessel, sponsor since the first year, 30 sportscars were admitted to the race, with a separate classification. On the streets of St Moritz and the Engadin, in addition to rare and exceptionally beautiful classic cars, powerful Ferrari sportscars were on display, including two Monza SPs. One car that caught the attention of participants and passers-by was the Kimera EVO37, driven by Luca Betti (former Rally driver and Founder of Kimera Automobili). The public was also able to admire some unique pieces on display in front of the Kulm Hotel in St Moritz, the home of Passione Engadina: a Ferrari 512 M Prototype, a Ferrari 206 S, and a Ferrari 206 SP.

Bauen is what can be considered a hidden gem among the Swiss villages. It lays by the shores of the Vierwaldstättersee and is often overlooked. Bauen has a unique climate, it’s usually quite warm during the year. With its Mediterranean vibes and the many palm trees, this village is very inviting to visitors.

Bauen is a former municipality on Lake Lucerne in the Swiss canton of Uri. On 1 January 2021 the former municipality of Bauen merged into the municipality of Seedorf.

Swiss Alps Village Walks: Mürren & Schilthorn Peak

Mürren is a Swiss mountain village at the foot of the Schilthorn peak, which is accessible by cable car. Featured in a James Bond film, the Piz Gloria revolving restaurant contains the Bond World 007 exhibit and has views of Mont Blanc. Near Mürren is the Lauterbrunnen Valley, with its subterranean, glacial Trümmelbach Falls. Themed trails on the Allmendhubel peak include the Flower Panorama and North Face paths.
