A beautiful autumn day that we spent on a wonderful route in the Swiss Alps. A road where you meet the wonderful landscape of the Alps and at the end of which you are greeted by a beautiful restaurant called Pochtenfall. The route was: Spiez – Aeschi bei Spiez – Aeschiried – Pochtenfall.
The canton of Bern or Berne is one of the 26 cantons forming the Swiss Confederation. It is composed of ten districts and its capital city is Bern which is also the federal city of Switzerland. The bear is the heraldic symbol of the canton, displayed on a red-yellow background.

In Thun’s old town, 12th-century Thun Castle houses a museum exhibiting prehistoric and medieval artifacts. To the south, Schadau Park has the Thun Panorama, a 19th-century 360-degree painting of the town. Farther south is Spiez Castle, with furnished 15th-century courtrooms.
