I am excited to share my new collection of night sky, startrail timelapses. These trails were created by blending hundreds of long exposure images for each individual timelapse.

In the dead of winter, 60 Minutes went looking for wolves in Yellowstone National Park, and we weren’t alone. These fierce and feral animals are the darlings of tourists willing to endure frigid temperatures to catch a glimpse of a distant pack crossing a snow-covered ridge.
When Tizola Moyo started as a ranger in 1993, Majete Wildlife Reserve was devoid of any wildlife. Now, with the help of the park’s rangers and community collaboration, it’s flourishing.

Making the Special Edition Photographs is an assignment I continue to this day, with Ansel’s vision and standards always in mind as I work. The prints are still made directly from Ansel’s negatives and in the “traditional” way: in a wet darkroom with amber safelights, chemicals and running water. The prints are still silver-gelatin prints, meaning that the image-forming element is literally metallic silver. Precious.
And after nearly 40 years, I can honestly say that I never tire of seeing these images come up in the developing tray. It’s an honor and privilege to play a small part in continuing Ansel’s legacy.
This collection, entitled the Yosemite Special Edition Photographs, proved immensely popular and over the years, Ansel added more images to the set until the total was capped at 30 at the time of his passing in 1984.
Today, Best’s Studio is known as the Ansel Adams Gallery, and continues as a family-run business. Ansel’s Special Edition Photographs of Yosemite are a mainstay of the Gallery’s offerings and heritage. Each print is still made by hand directly from Ansel’s original negatives, using his approach and methodology to ensure strict adherence to his standards and aesthetic.

From start to finish, AutoCamp Yosemite took a surprisingly short two years to complete. That’s because they used the same dream team they worked with for their Russian River location—Anacapa Architecture and Geremia Design. Building on the desire to make the space homey and authentic, they took inspiration from the area and brought in local talent and hometown favorites every chance they got. Architect Dan Weber sourced the tents from a company based in his hometown; local designers contributed much of the site’s wall art, decor, and building fabrication; and a vast majority of the furnishings and decor were designed or sourced from the designers’ friends.

The volunteer encouraged me to take the 3 Dune Challenge, a 1.5-mile hike up Indiana Dunes’ three highest dunes (Mount Tom, 192 feet; Mount Holden, 184 feet; Mount Jackson, 176 feet), adding that completion of the Challenge would yield a “special reward.”
Back at my well-shaded and firepit-equipped campsite, I surveilled the campground’s 146 other sites. The R.V.-to-tent ratio was about ten to one. My thumbnail sociological findings: The people in R.V.s tended to have a baseball cap and a spouse, while the people in tents tended to have a beard and a slightly unsettling stare. I also took note of the 20-mile-per-hour winds that would be present throughout my stay: These made for cool nights and for campfires that were ridiculously easy to get going.

“USA – Ground Effect” is a title I gave to this little edit I created from my last trip to the United States. I was hoping I could revisit my origins to create a somewhat pleasing landscape film which didn’t involve the use of a drone. Hence the name “Ground Effect”. I must admit I came close to chucking in a few beauties I captured with my drone but it would of meant not being faithful to what I was trying to achieve.
Drones have revolutionised the process of landscape videography and it has made it too easy to create stunning results even if you are new to shooting landscapes. As much as it’s an important tool to get the big wow! factor from the masses I reckon you cant beat a carefully composed shot from your actual stand point using a camera like the C300. In actual fact the way restrictions are going with drones there won’t be too many places left for you to shoot with a drone so my advice is to not forget the basics.
