Travel Videos: “Canarian Hymn” In Gran Canaria, Tenerife And La Gomera

Filmed and Edited by: David Jervidal & Tommy Jervidal

The Canary Islands has been a huge eye opener for me and my father.

We visited Tenerife and Gomera for the first time ten years ago and as photographers we immediately saw the possibilities in the variety of the landscapes. Coming back for more than eight times, the spirit of the nature on the Canary Islands still has a deep impact on us while searching for the Milkyway on Teide, wandering in deserts, rainforests and often getting lost hiking in the mountains.

Canarian Hymn is the result of our journeys and is a celebration of that intense warm light that shines on these islands.

It was filmed on Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Gomera with a Mavic Pro 2 Drone and a Sony A7Riii.

Poem: Kahlil Gibran

The Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the coast of northwestern Africa, are rugged volcanic isles known for their black- and white-sand beaches. Tenerife, the largest island, is dominated by the sometimes-snowy active volcano Mt. Teide, which has its own astronomical observatory and is part of Teide National Park. Tenerife hosts a huge pre-Lent Carnival in the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

New Aerial Travel Video: “The Gorge De Daluis” In Southern France (2020)

Filmed and Edited by: Charlie Johnston

The Gorge de Daluis is a beautiful red rock gorge that runs for about 6km, in the South of France. I’ve been a couple of times before, but this time I managed to take along some basic camera gear and shoot as I went. It’s a stunning, rugged place and a challenging one to shoot for sure.

Travel & Wildlife: The “Iberian Lynx” Of The Sierra Morena In Spain (Video)

Southern Spain: home to distinctive landscapes, extreme climates, and a unique species of wildcat. The Iberian lynx is smaller than its European cousin and has evolved to survive almost exclusively by hunting wild rabbits.

Yet this unvaried diet is what drove the Iberian lynx to the brink of extinction during the 20th century. We introduce the breeding and conservation programs that have helped the wildcat make a remarkable recovery, and take a look at the threats the endangered species still faces today.

The Iberian lynx is a wild cat species endemic to the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. It is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List.

The Sierra Morena is one of the main systems of mountain ranges in Spain. It stretches for 450 kilometres from east to west across the south of the Iberian Peninsula, forming the southern border of the Meseta Central plateau and providing the watershed between the valleys of the Guadiana to the north and the west, and the Guadalquivir to the south.
