Milan, a metropolis in Italy’s northern Lombardy region, is a global capital of fashion and design. Home to the national stock exchange, it’s a financial hub also known for its high-end restaurants and shops. The Gothic Duomo di Milano cathedral and the Santa Maria delle Grazie convent, housing Leonardo da Vinci’s mural “The Last Supper,” testify to centuries of art and culture.

Classic Car Racing: ‘Inside The 2020 Mille Miglia’, Italy

This year, the race had its own challenges, as the pandemic ripped across the world. The Mille Miglia usually takes place in May, but was postponed until October this time round — and many had feared it might be cancelled altogether. But the show must go on — and the sight of more than 400 stunning classic cars glinting in the autumn sun is one I will remember for a very long time.
The first Miglia Mille took place in 1927, founded by a group of car enthusiasts in the town of Brescia, Northern Italy — the race was their response to the region’s loss of the Italian Grand Prix to Monza, seven years earlier. A 1,000 mile loop around Northern Italy (hence the name), the race took place every year for three decades, save for a break during the Second World War. But the perilous, do-or-die nature of the contest led to many crashes and more than ten fatalities, and the final chequered flag fell in 1957. In the 1970s, the Mille Miglia was reborn as we know it today — more of a grand tour than a hotly-contested, breakneck race (although some drivers, even now, forget this from
time to time.)

Travel & Cycling: 87-Mile Lake Garda, Italy Bike Path Opens In 2021 – “Gorgeous”
The 140-km bike path will offer amazing views over Italy’s largest lake and the mountains that surround it. It is expected to attract many bike enthusiasts who already travel to the area to ride on the Dolomites paths.
It will circle beautiful Lake Garda in northern Italy from Capo Reamol on the lake’s western shore to Limone sul Garda at the border with Trentino. The path crosses three regions, Lombardy, Trentino and Veneto and uses both existing cycling tracks and newly built paths.
Lake Garda is already a paradise for those who love exploring on a bike; from 2021, even more so, as the so-called Garda by Bike project, is scheduled to be completed.
The project has been in the works for two years and the stretch that is yet to be completed promises to be one of the most spectacular as it’s built right above the lake, next to cliffs that almost jut out into the water.
The path is suitable for everyone as it’s 2.5 meters wide and doesn’t have any particularly steep section. It can be biked on both road and mountain bikes. The speed limit is 30 km per hour.
And if you don’t like biking, no worries: the path includes a pedestrian lane for those who prefer walking.

Top Hotel Tours: ‘Forestis Dolomites’ In Italy (Video)
Join me on a full tour of Forestis, an incredibly stylish and uber-luxurious 5-star hotel in the Italian Alps. Cool, tranquil and connected to its stunning setting, Forestis is a ski-in/ski-out, adults-only sanctuary in the Dolomites’ spectacular mountainscape, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Hideaway
FORESTIS is located in a densely wooded area, 1,800 m above sea-level, with a view of the Dolomites. The area’s unique and outstanding natural character had already prompted the Austrian monarchy to establish a tuberculosis sanatorium at precisely this special site.
Architecture
The architecture of FORESTIS is inspired by the same natural features that were once decisive in establishing a sanatorium. The excellent water, air, sun and climate are reflected here in equally authentic materials. Stone, from which the spring emerges, glass, as clear as the air, warm materials that warm like the sun, and the wood that grows best in this climate. Outside and inside, these natural materials are in harmony with each other, just like nature itself.

Venice, the capital of northern Italy’s Veneto region, is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. It has no roads, just canals – including the Grand Canal thoroughfare – lined with Renaissance and Gothic palaces. The central square, Piazza San Marco, contains St. Mark’s Basilica, which is tiled with Byzantine mosaics, and the Campanile bell tower offering views of the city’s red roofs.
