Running parallel to the water, the grand Primorsky Boulevard is a popular promenade lined with mansions and monuments.

Overlooking the Dnieper River is the Kiev Pechersk Lavra monastery complex, a Christian pilgrimage site housing Scythian tomb relics and catacombs containing mummified Orthodox monks.
