This is the closest Great Egret nest site in our backyard wildlife sanctuary – approximately 250’ away. There hasn’t been a nest here is a couple of years due to low water, but the afternoon before last I saw a male displaying on a branch, and the next morning he had already attracted a mate. He repeatedly brought branches from across the pond, and with sometimes questionable hand-offs she skillfully wove the sticks into their growing nest.

There is plenty to see and do in the region beyond visiting the famous hilltop Gergeti Trinity Church. In this film we show you the best places to visit in Kazbegi, including Truso Valley, Gveleti Waterfall, Dariali Gorge, Tsdo village, Gergeti Glacier, the stone carved heads of Sno, and the gorgeous Juta Valley (aka ‘The Dolomites of Georgia’).

The city of Zurich, a global center for banking and finance, lies at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland. The picturesque lanes of the central Altstadt (Old Town), on either side of the Limmat River, reflect its pre-medieval history. Waterfront promenades like the Limmatquai follow the river toward the 17th-century Rathaus (town hall).
Chipping Norton is another classic market town in the east of the Cotswolds. Another settlement regarded as a gateway to the AONB, it is often renowned for the Bliss Tweed Mill. The town centre is unusually steep, with one row of houses much higher than the opposite side. This is well worth a visit as a classic English town.
