In the months when the hours of sunshine are shortest in the north, shortly before and after the never-ending polar night, Norway shows itself in the most beautiful colors. Whether it’s the sunrises that turn into sunsets or the northern lights that color the sky, it’s far less dreary and gray than we sometimes imagine.

Discover the land of the northern lights with its fjords and mountains in the south, the magical archipelago of Lofoten, the incredibly beautiful Senja and the endless fjords and islands around Tromsø. Recorded with cameras in a resolution of over 8k and finished in HDR (High Dynamic Range / HDR 10). The video looks best on real ultra high definition HDR display.

Tønsberg, historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark county, southern Norway, located around 102 kilometres south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. The administrative centre of the municipality is the city of Tønsberg.

Norway is a Scandinavian country encompassing mountains, glaciers and deep coastal fjords. Oslo, the capital, is a city of green spaces and museums. Preserved 9th-century Viking ships are displayed at Oslo’s Viking Ship Museum. Bergen, with colorful wooden houses, is the starting point for cruises to the dramatic Sognefjord. Norway is also known for fishing, hiking and skiing, notably at Lillehammer’s Olympic resort.

Road Trips: ‘North Cape In Norway’ – Northern Most Point In Europe By Car

A journey along Norway’s most northern coast to the northernmost point in Europe that can be accessed by car: North Cape. The more north you travel, the more remote, vast and rough the environment gets. From the Lyngen Alps it was still roughly 400 Kiolometers to Nordkapp – and we decided to cover this distance in one day. We met ( a lot of!!!) reindeer, rode on route E6 over the mountain pass Kvænangsfjellet at 402 meters altitude (yes, that doesn’t sound very high, but it’s indeed one of the highest passes in this far north of Norway) and turned on Route 69 at Olderfjord to follow the coast. The closer we got to Nordkapp, the more I felt like like dreaming. Maybe because all of a sudden our goal was so close. But instead of driving straight to North Cape we drove to the town Honningsvåg first after driving through the North Cape tunnel and reaching the island Magerøya. Honningsvåg has the largest cruise port in Northern Norway and was our base to head to North Cape at 5am the following morning. We had a reason to visit Nordkapp that early. Rumors said that taking a motorcycle to the iconic globe, the symbol of North Cape, is only possible as long as the tourist center is closed. With opening times from 10.30 am to 1 am in summer due to the midnight sun, there is only a very limited time frame to do so. Vikings were the seafaring Norse people from southern Scandinavia  (present-day Denmark, Norway and Sweden)[who from the late 8th to late 11th centuries raided, pirated, traded and settled throughout parts of Europe, and explored westward to Iceland, Greenland, and Vinland. In the countries they raided and settled, the period is known as the Viking Age, and the term ‘Viking’ also commonly includes the inhabitants of the Norse homelands. The Vikings had a profound impact on the early medieval history of Scandinavia, the British Isles, France, Estonia, Kievan Rus’ and Sicily.

As it has been a long time since our last release, and because big things are on the way, we are starting a new series of short documentaries based on the stunning nature around northern Norway. It is also a way for us to flag the current saddening state of the Arctic and how climate change is affecting it more / faster than any other part or the world.

This series of clips were taken in Målselva, Norway on January 10th 2020. Typically at this time of year and around that inland area, temperature are much colder and rivers are dormant, buried under feet of snow. This year, however, is a total different story. For the past years, we’ve been seeing a general trend with much milder, later winters with very little snow until February. This year, Tromsø has had zero centimeters thus far, which is quite alarming. Rivers should barely be running or visible.

The Målselva is a river in Målselv Municipality in Troms og Finnmark county, Norway. The 140-kilometre (87 mi) long river flows through the Målselvdalen valley and then empties into the Målselvfjorden, an arm of the Malangen fjord. The municipality and the valley through which the river runs are both named after the river.

Winter Wonderland, climbing the highest peak in Sirdal, Hilleknuten Peak, on skis, a stunning snow hike. Recorded on gopro hero black 9 in 5k in January 2021 on a beautiful but very windy day.

Sirdal is a municipality in Agder county, Norway. It is located in the northwestern part of the traditional district of Lister. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Tonstad. Other villages in Sirdal include Bjørnestad, Haughom, Kvæven, Lunde, and Tjørhom.

Every morning, Jon Aars, a senior researcher at the Norwegian Polar Institute, receives a batch of emails from several female polar bears in the High Arctic, checking in and letting him know where they are. “It’s always a nice way to start the day,” he says.
