So what actually makes this village Scottish? Legend has it that the population descended from Scottish soldiers, who stumbled across the area whilst fleeing a battle 500 years ago.

But it’s not just their supposed ancestors flying the Scottish flag – the inhabitants today wear traditional tartan, grab drinks in their local Scottish bar and they even mix Scottish into their language…Ay, can you believe it! These are the Italian locals keeping this delightfully unexpected Scottish tradition alive.

Nature: Reinstein Woods Preserve In New York

CBS Sunday Morning (February 25, 2024): We leave you this Sunday at the Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve in Depew, New York.

Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve is located near the city of Buffalo in the Town of Cheektowaga in Erie County, New York, USA. Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve is a 292-acre forested complex that also includes wetlands and ponds, located within a developed suburban area.

Travel: A Walking Tour Of Verona In Northern Italy

VIRTUAL TOUR (February 25, 2024): Verona is a city in northern Italy’s Veneto region, with a medieval old town built between the meandering Adige River. It’s famous for being the setting of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.”

A 14th-century residence with a tiny balcony overlooking a courtyard is said be “Juliet’s House.” The Verona Arena is a huge 1st-century Roman amphitheater, which currently hosts concerts and large-scale opera performances.

A country with warm-hearted people and a Mediterranean lifestyle. Lying on the western edge of the Balkan Peninsula, only a couple of hours from most of Europe the first part of our journey takes us to the north of the country to the Albanian Alps, near the border of Montenegro.

Travel: A Winter Walking Tour Of Salzburg, Austria

POPtravel (February 3, 2024) – Salzburg is an Austrian city on the border of Germany, with views of the Eastern Alps. The city is divided by the Salzach River, with medieval and baroque buildings of the pedestrian Altstadt (Old City) on its left bank, facing the 19th-century Neustadt (New City) on its right. The Altstadt birthplace of famed composer Mozart is preserved as a museum displaying his childhood instruments. 

Travel Tours: Zhangjiajie National Park In China

Walk East Films (January 23, 2024) – Zhangjiajie is a city, region, and national park. It is located in Central China, about 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) from Hong Kong. Are you impressed by the Hallelujah Mountains in Avatar? The real ones are in Zhangjiajie.

There are 243 peaks and more than 3,000 pinnacles and spires in the national park. Scenes in Avatar come to mind when the peaks are caught in the right light or when the early morning mountain mist rolls in around them. In 1982, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park became China’s first national forest park.

Cinematic Japan: Renge-Ji Temple Garden In Kyoto

Yurara Sarara Films (January 20, 2024) – Renge-ji is a small temple in the north-east of Kyoto city. It was founded in 1662 by Imaeda Chikayoshi but other sources state that it was originally near the current location of Kyoto Station, and that Imaeda-san only moved it here and “revived” it long after its total destruction during the Onin war (1467~1477).

The main hall garden is of the “pond” style, formally known as “chisenkai kaiyuushiki garden” (池泉回遊式庭園). The only island stone of the pond represents a ship and is called “funaishi”, which means… ship stone 😉

Japan Gardens: Jojakko-Ji Temple Kyoto In The Rain

Yurara Sarara Films (January 14, 2024) – Jojakkoji Temple 雨の常寂光寺 in the rain. Established at the end of the 16th century, Jojakkoji is a Nichiren temple situated on the side of Mt. Kokura, on Kyoto’s western edge. The temple is famous for its autumn leaves.

Switzerland Train Travel: Tour Of Kleine Scheidegg To Grindelwald Village

AKSense – Zurich Films (January 13, 2024) – This 4K HDR video features a train driver’s view of the trip to Grindelwald village (3392 ft) from Kleine Scheidegg mountain station (6762 ft).

The Kleine Scheidegg is located directly at the foot of Eiger North Face. It is the watershed between the two Lütschinen valleys. It is a popular starting point for the Jungfrau train to the Jungfraujoch-Top of Europe station, the highest train station of Europe.
