Travel Tours: Dubrovnik In Southwestern Croatia

Massimo Nalli Films (July 13, 2023) – Dubrovnik, historically known as Ragusa, is a city in southern Dalmatia and is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Mediterranean. In 1979, the city of Dubrovnik was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in recognition of its outstanding medieval architecture and fortified old town.

The history of the city probably dates back to the 7th century, when the town known as Ragusa was founded by refugees from Epidaurum (Ragusa Vecchia). It was under the protection of the Byzantine Empire and later under the sovereignty of the Republic of Venice.

At the time of its construction, there was fierce competition to win the title of tallest building in the world. The Chrysler Building claimed the title in 1929, and the Empire State Building seized it in 1931, its height being 1,250 feet (381 metres) courtesy of its iconic spire, which was originally intended to serve as a mooring station for airships. Around its base are medieval walls and towers above which rise the clustered buildings of the village with the ancient  abbey  crowning the mount. One of the more popular tourist attractions in France, Mont-Saint-Michel was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979.

The Wasserfallweg is a path offering views of the town’s central Gasteiner Waterfall plummeting to the valley floor. Gothic frescoes adorn St. Nicholas Church. The Gasteiner Museum chronicles the town’s thermal springs and notable guests. 

Netherlands Travel: Tree-Lined Canals Of Utrecht

jeronimoseyes Films (June 25, 2023): Utrecht is a city in the Netherlands, known for its medieval center. It has tree-lined canals, Christian monuments and a venerable university.

The iconic Domtoren, a 14th-century bell tower with city views, stands opposite the Gothic Cathedral of St. Martin on central Domplein square. The Museum Catharijneconvent shows religious art and artifacts in a former monastery. 

Travel: Monterosso Al Mare, Cinque Terre, Italy

Wanderizm Films (June 23, 2023) – Monterosso al Mare is a town in the province of La Spezia, part of the region of Liguria. It is one of the five villages in Cinque Terre.

It is located at the center of a small natural gulf, protected by a small artificial reef, to the east of Punta Mesco in the Riviera of La Spezia, the westernmost of the Cinque Terre.

In the west part of the original village, beyond the hill of the Capuchins, it is the village of Fegina.

Travel: A Walking Tour Of Gimmelwald, Switzerland

The Traveler Films (June 20, 2023) – Gimmelwald is one of the few traffic-free villages in Switzerland where access by car is not possible due to a missing road connection. The  Schilthorn cable car stops here, where it is possible to board another cable car which runs to Mürren.

Farming and tourism are the main source of income today. Farmers raise hay on tiny plots of land to feed small herds of cows. In winter, farmers often work as well for the Schilthorn cable car by performing jobs like running ski lifts or ski-slope grooming.
