Walking Tour: Dinant – Southern Belgium (4K)

Dinant is a city in Belgium’s Walloon Region. It’s on the banks of the Meuse River and backed by steep cliffs. Perched on an outcrop above town is the centuries-old fortified Citadel. It’s now a museum with sweeping views. Below it is the Gothic Collegiate Church of Our Lady. Nearby, on the site of saxophone inventor Adolphe Sax’s birthplace, Mr. Sax’s House has interactive exhibits on the instrument’s development. 

Lakefront Villa Tours: Lake Iseo, Lombardy, Italy

On the shores of Lake Iseo, at the foot of the Alps and right in front of Monte Isola, 16th-century manor villa with botanic park. The building, over 1,500 sqm, is the typical noble villa with ample frescoed halls, huge windows and direct view over the lake.

With a total of 9 bedrooms (and the possibility of creating more) the property is well suited both as a private residence and as an accommodation business.

The botanic garden, a masterwork by the biologist Fenaroli who here experimented if it was possible to cultivate kiwi in Italy, covers 2.1 hectares and is home to peculiar and exotic plants.

Lake Iseo or Iseo lake, also known as Sebino, is the fourth largest lake in Lombardy, Italy, fed by the Oglio river. It is in the north of the country in the Val Camonica area, near the cities of Brescia and Bergamo. The lake is almost equally divided between the Provinces of Bergamo and Brescia. 

Ocean Walks: ‘Hale’iwa Beach Park’, Oahu, Hawaii

Located in the small town of Hale’iwa on Oahu’s North Shore, Hale’iwa Beach Park (see more photosview panorama) is fronted by a narrow sand beach. Swimming isn’t that good here because of the shallow and rocky ocean bottom, but the park is nice for picnics.

Also, Hale’iwa Beach Park is frequently used by canoe paddlers as a training and regatta site and by kayakers as an access point to the bay. Surfers also like this beach because from here they can get to the waves at the surf spot Puaena Point. The name Hale’iwa in the Hawaiian language means “house (of) frigate bird.”

Travel Views: Northern Territory – Australia (4K)

The Northern Territory (aka NT) is a vast federal territory in Australia famed for its Outback desert landscapes. In the arid Red Centre lie the iconic sandstone monolith Uluru (Ayers Rock), the red-rock domes of Kata Tjuta and the sculpted cliffs of Kings Canyon in Watarrka National Park. Remote Alice Springs, the gateway town to the Red Centre desert, offers Aboriginal art galleries.

Places visited included Uluru, Yulara, Kings Canyon, Macdonnell Ranges, Alice Springs, Darwin and Litchfield National Park.

Bike Tour: Lake Albano & Castel Gandolfo, Italy (4K)

Castel Gandolfo, colloquially just Castello in the Castelli Romani dialects, is a town located 25 kilometres southeast of Rome in the Lazio region of Italy. 

Lake Albano is a small volcanic crater lake in the Alban Hills of Lazio, at the foot of Monte Cavo, 20 km southeast of Rome. Castel Gandolfo, overlooking the lake, is the site of the Papal Palace of Castel Gandolfo. It hosted the canoeing and rowing events of the 1960 Summer Olympic Games that were held in Rome.

Montego Bay, the capital of Saint James Parish on Jamaica’s north coast, is a major cruise ship port with numerous beach resorts and golf courses outside its commercial core. Popular beaches include Doctor’s Cave Beach and Walter Fletcher Beach, home to an amusement park. There’s also snorkelling and diving at coral reefs in the protected waters of Montego Bay Marine Park.

Italy, a European country with a long Mediterranean coastline, has left a powerful mark on Western culture and cuisine. Its capital, Rome, is home to the Vatican as well as landmark art and ancient ruins. Other major cities include Florence, with Renaissance masterpieces such as Michelangelo’s “David” and Brunelleschi’s Duomo; Venice, the city of canals; and Milan, Italy’s fashion capital.

Timelapse Views: Messina – Sicily, Italy (4K Video)

Messina is a harbor city in northeast Sicily, separated from mainland Italy by the Strait of Messina. It’s known for the Norman Messina Cathedral, with its Gothic portal, 15th-century windows and an astronomical clock on the bell tower. Nearby are marble fountains decorated with mythological figures, like the Fontana di Orione, with its carved inscriptions, and the Neptune Fountain, topped by a statue of the sea god. 

Walks: Soprabolzano – Northern Italy (Video)

Soprabolzano, belonging to the municipality of Renon, is located on the high plateau extending above the provincial capital, at an altitude of 1,221 m asl.

In order to reach Soprabolzano you can take the modern cableway starting from Bolzano, which is by the way not only a comfortable, but also a very fast means of transport. Originally this cableway used to be a rack railway, in 1966 it was replaced by a cableway that used to be in operation until 2007. After a construction period of 2 years, the 4,560 m long 3-S cableway was put into operation, transporting people from Bolzano to Soprabolzano. From Soprabolzano to Collalbo, however, still today the historical train is operating.
