Top New Travel Videos: “The Fascinating World Of Deep Mountain Lakes”

Directed by: Sigurd Tesche
Written by: Lothar Frenz

This is a nature documentary, which leads us into the fascinating world of deep mountain lakes. We conquer ice palaces of unsuspected beauty. In the freezers, in which elves, fairies and mountain trolls once did their mischief, we move, using a special breathing technique and with special cameras in search of nocturnal hunters, whose eyes are equipped with residual light amplifying receptors.

A nature documentary, recorded in 2k-cinema format with precision cameras, such as super slow motion, time lapse, residual light and remote-controlled cams.

Top New Travel Videos: “Portrait Of Antarctica”

Filmed and Edited by: Amberly Kramhoft & Florent Piovesan (Of Two Lands)

The white continent had been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, reading the adventures of Shackleton as a kid and wondering what being at the end of the world would feel like.

In March 2020 I got the opportunity to join my good friend and photographer Matt Horspool ( Etchd Photography) on a trip to Antarctica.

I went there to capture and document the whole journey for an expedition company through film and although the trip ended up quite different than what we originally set out to, we had an amazing week down there.

I feel so lucky that I got to experience this so young and made my dream come true.
I will never forget the stunning landscapes, the misty mountains and the impressive icebergs.

Despite the whole ordeal surrounding our journey back from Antarctica I wanted to create a video showcasing only the breathtaking and pristine scenery we got to see as well as the incredible wildlife we encountered.

This is the footage that I managed to capture in-between my main assignment.

2020 has been a very strange year but for me being able to visit such a place made it quite special.
I hope to be back one day and set my eyes again on the white continent.

New Aerial Travel Videos: “Saudi Arabia From Above”

Filmed and Edited by: Stef Hoffer

Did you ever see Saudi Arabia from above? In this short film, I travel through the country and explore some beautiful regions with a drone.

Saudi Arabia has long been off limits to foreign tourists and travelers. Since a few months, however, it’s possible to visit the country on a tourist visa. I made use of this opportunity and traveled solo to Saudi Arabia for 2 weeks. I also brought a small drone and captured shots from several regions, including: Riyadh, the Edge of the World, parts of the desert, Al Ula (camel races), Jeddah, the road to Mecca, Umluj and the Red Sea, and the ruins of Khaybar city.

Saudi Arabia is mostly known in the ‘Western world’ for its petroleum export, the birthplace of Islam, and unfortunately also poor human rights record. But as I discover there is much more to this massive country than first meets the eye. In these series I hope to give a glimpse into what was once an almost ‘forbidden place’ for independent travelers, and is now open for visitors from around the world.

Travel Videos: “Canarian Hymn” In Gran Canaria, Tenerife And La Gomera

Filmed and Edited by: David Jervidal & Tommy Jervidal

The Canary Islands has been a huge eye opener for me and my father.

We visited Tenerife and Gomera for the first time ten years ago and as photographers we immediately saw the possibilities in the variety of the landscapes. Coming back for more than eight times, the spirit of the nature on the Canary Islands still has a deep impact on us while searching for the Milkyway on Teide, wandering in deserts, rainforests and often getting lost hiking in the mountains.

Canarian Hymn is the result of our journeys and is a celebration of that intense warm light that shines on these islands.

It was filmed on Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Gomera with a Mavic Pro 2 Drone and a Sony A7Riii.

Poem: Kahlil Gibran

Website

The Canary Islands, a Spanish archipelago off the coast of northwestern Africa, are rugged volcanic isles known for their black- and white-sand beaches. Tenerife, the largest island, is dominated by the sometimes-snowy active volcano Mt. Teide, which has its own astronomical observatory and is part of Teide National Park. Tenerife hosts a huge pre-Lent Carnival in the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
