Africa is the second largest continent in the world in terms of both land area and population, only after the Asian continent. Despite the ignorant thought that Africa is one country, Africa is home to 54 sovereign countries, and might be the world´s most diverse continent with very different and unique culture. The diversity makes Africa one of the world´s most interesting travel destination with several countries to choose from. The first thing most people will think of when planning a trip to Africa is the amazing wildlife the continent has to offer. With over 1100 different types of mammals most choose countries with the “big five animals “, national parks and the most popular countries but Africa has so much more to offer than just the most popular countries.
With so many of us staying at home these days and spending more time in the kitchen, vanilla sales, of all things, are booming. Correspondent Seth Doane travels to the island of Madagascar – which supplies 80% of the world’s vanilla – to learn more about the extraordinarily colorful (and sometimes unsavory) story of a familiar spice, and why this valuable cash crop can be worth more by weight than silver.
This is kind of what I felt during my holidays in Madagascar. This is certainely one of the most exciting thing I saw and I try to resume it in 2 minutes.
I decided to edit in an optimistc way despite what you can hear about this island. I choosed this point of view cause Malagasy people transmitted to me their strenght and their way of life.
Some sounds were recorded directly. For example what you can hear at 1:12 is the yell of the biggest lemur, the Indri Indri. Their yell can be heard from 5 km !
