Biking along country side roads, listening to songs every Swede know by heart: Sol, vind och vatten, Visa vid vindens ängar, Sjösalavals, En kväll i juni. It’s about 8 o’clock in the evening, the sun won’t set for another couple of hours. Summer is lovely on evnings like these. The music is next to cliché but so much a part of Swedish summer they where the obvious choice.

On the northern shore of Södermalm island you will find Monteliusvägen, a narrow footpath on steep cliffs. The walking path offers highly impressive views of the opposite Stockholm downtown. Monteliusvägen is considered to be one of the best and most romantic viewpoints in Stockholm.
On the other side of the Riddarfjärden and Lake Mälaren one can see the Stockholm City Hall, to the east of it the church Riddarholmskyrka, followed by the Old Town Gamla Stan. In the background you can get a glimpse of the Royal Palace.

Skeppsholmen and Kastellholmen are two beautiful islands in the middle of Stockholm, joined together by a bridge. The easiest way to get here is just by taking a walk along Skeppsholmsbron or taking the public transport ferry from Slussen or Nybrokajen. The islands are probably best known for their museums and attractions; Moderna Musset, The Museum of Far Eastern Antiquities, and Stockholm Toy Museum are all found here. They’re also great for a seaside walk, with a panoramic view of Östermalm, Djurgården, Södermalm, and Gamla Stan. And if you want to chill out for a bit, maybe enjoy a takeaway lunch from any of the cafés or restaurants here, Sveskuddsparken or Kastellparken offer a green oasis.
