Spring View: Washington, DC Cherry Blossoms (2022)

The cherry blossom trees are without a doubt the stars of springtime in Washington, DC. Visit the District during this time and you’ll find the nation’s capital is accented in pink for the National Cherry Blossom Festival, which takes place which virtual and in-person events from March 20 – April 17, 2022. Here are some must-knows as you plan to celebrate the blossoms at home or during a safe, in-person visit to DC.

Scotland View: Edinburgh – Old Town & City Center

Edinburgh is Scotland’s compact, hilly capital. It has a medieval Old Town and elegant Georgian New Town with gardens and neoclassical buildings. Looming over the city is Edinburgh Castle, home to Scotland’s crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny, used in the coronation of Scottish rulers. Arthur’s Seat is an imposing peak in Holyrood Park with sweeping views, and Calton Hill is topped with monuments and memorials.

Views: Markets & Street Food In Lahore, Pakistan

The city is a cultural center in the North of Pakistan with over 11 million inhabitants. It’s vibrant, bustling and full of historic buildings and traditions. Eva meets unique characters from Lahore who take her on a tour through their city. The ancient Wazir Khan Mosque is a must-see, and don’t miss a spontaneous visit to a local barber shop 😉. Walking Tour: Nice – On The French Riviera (4K)

Nice, capital of the Alpes-Maritimes department on the French Riviera, sits on the pebbly shores of the Baie des Anges. Founded by the Greeks and later a retreat for 19th-century European elite, the city has also long attracted artists. Former resident Henri Matisse is honored with a career-spanning collection of paintings at Musée Matisse. Musée Marc Chagall features some of its namesake’s major religious works.

Kuwait City is the capital of the gulf nation of Kuwait. At its heart sits the Grand Mosque, known for its vast interior and chandeliered dome. On the waterfront, the late-19th-century Seif Palace features a neo-Arabic watchtower and manicured gardens. Nearby, the Kuwait National Museum explores history and features science shows at its planetarium. Souk Al-Mubarakiya is a vast food and handicraft market.

Walking Tour: Potsdam In Northeast Germany (4K)

Potsdam is a city on the border of Berlin, Germany. Sanssouci Palace was once the summer home of Frederick the Great, former King of Prussia. On the grounds of the complex, the Renaissance Orangery Palace overlooks Italian-style gardens with fountains. Historic Mill offers city views. English gardens surround neoclassical Charlottenhof Palace. The 19th-century Roman Baths were built in several architectural styles.

The Citadel of Cairo or Citadel of Saladin is a medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt, built by Salah ad-Din and further developed by subsequent Egyptian rulers. It was the seat of government in Egypt and the residence of its rulers for nearly 700 years from the 13th to the 19th centuries.

Cairo, Egypt’s sprawling capital, is set on the Nile River. At its heart is Tahrir Square and the vast Egyptian Museum, a trove of antiquities including royal mummies and gilded King Tutankhamun artifacts. Nearby, Giza is the site of the iconic pyramids and Great Sphinx, dating to the 26th century BC. In Gezira Island’s leafy Zamalek district, 187m Cairo Tower affords panoramic city views. 

Japan Views: Kyoto Plum Blossoms & ‘Hanato’ Lights

Kyoto, once the capital of Japan, is a city on the island of Honshu. It’s famous for its numerous classical Buddhist temples, as well as gardens, imperial palaces, Shinto shrines and traditional wooden houses. It’s also known for formal traditions such as kaiseki dining, consisting of multiple courses of precise dishes, and geisha, female entertainers often found in the Gion district.

City Walks: Al Sabkha District In Dubai, UAE (4K)

Historic Al Sabkha is a labyrinthine district around the glitzy jewelry stores of Deira Gold Souk, with stalls piled high with oud and frankincense in the neighboring Perfume Souk. The Women’s Museum – Bait Al Banat examines the role of women in the UAE, and there are rare photos of Dubai’s development since the 1960s in Dubai Municipality Museum. Along with hostels, Arabic cafes and tea shops line narrow alleys. 

Walking Tours: De Pijp In Amsterdam, Netherlands

Bohemian De Pijp’s narrow streets are lined with Middle Eastern eateries, old-school pubs and cafes with sidewalk terraces. Gregarious stallholders at Albert Cuypmarkt sell Dutch specialties like herrings and waffles. In a former brewery, the multimedia Heineken Experience chronicles the history of beer making and offers tastings. Also in the area, Sarphatipark features English-style gardens with ponds and meadows.
