Cinematic Timelapse Views: British Columbia, Canada

Filmed and Edited by: Sergii Bogomolov

The film was produced over 5 years and includes scenery of beautiful British Columbia, Canada.

The short presents rarely photographed nature phenomena like temperature inversion aka ‘above the clouds’, Earth shadow, sunbeams / God rays, falling meteor, moonrise, evaporation fog and Milky Way.
The movie pairs urban backgrounds against landscape shots a lot. There is a whole section that involves city and architecture which is then superseded by shots of wilderness landscapes. A notable example in the end of the clip is a juxtaposition of a crescent moon against a mountain which then dissolves to a high-rise. Such comparison was done on purpose.

LOCATIONS
The footage was shot in British Columbia, Canada and includes notable locations in Vancouver (Kitsilano, Grouse Mountain, Ambleside Park, Lions Gate Bridge, Bowen Island, Lighthouse Park, YVR, Capitol Hill, Stanley Park), Whistler (Garibaldi Provincial Park, Spearhead Range), Squamish (Stawamus Chief, Mount Garibaldi) as well as Pemberton, Okanagan, Osoyoos and Vancouver Island.

Riga, Latvia’s capital, is set on the Baltic Sea at the mouth of the River Daugava. It’s considered a cultural center and is home to many museums and concert halls. The city is also known for its wooden buildings, art nouveau architecture and medieval Old Town. The pedestrian-only Old Town has many shops and restaurants and is home to busy Livu Square, with bars and nightclubs.

Skyline Views: Frankfurt, Germany In Hyperlapse

Frankfurt, a central German city on the river Main, is a major financial hub that’s home to the European Central Bank. It’s the birthplace of famed writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, whose former home is now the Goethe House Museum. Like much of the city, it was damaged during World War II and later rebuilt. The reconstructed Altstadt (Old Town) is the site of Römerberg, a square that hosts an annual Christmas market.

SKYLINE VIEWS is a fast motion short film by German filmmakers Fenchel & Janisch. The hyper lapse and time lapse footage was shot in summer 2020 in Frankfurt using mirrorless cameras. The static scenes were locked-off tripod shots and the motion shots were photographed hand-held. The high resolution photo sequences were edited using Adobe CameraRaw and After Effects CC.

Timelapse: ‘Amsterdam – Netherlands’ (4K Video)

Amsterdam is the Netherlands’ capital, known for its artistic heritage, elaborate canal system and narrow houses with gabled facades, legacies of the city’s 17th-century Golden Age. Its Museum District houses the Van Gogh Museum, works by Rembrandt and Vermeer at the Rijksmuseum, and modern art at the Stedelijk. Cycling is key to the city’s character, and there are numerous bike paths.

Timelapse: ‘Mountains Of Northern Norway’ (4K)

Filmed and Edited by: Night Light Films

What makes northern Norway so unique, mystical and fairy-tale like? It is undeniably its mountains. ‘Fjellan’ means ‘the mountain’ or ‘the mountains’ in local dialect. I wanted to pay a tribute to some of the most iconic peaks of this part of the country.

You can find all types of mountains in northern Norway. While some are more like rolling hills, others are jaw-dropping, sharply triangular peaks that rise directly from the bottom of fjords. But what they all have in common is their ability to feed our imagination. People usually see many shapes and figures in them, including animals, soldiers, sleeping giants or even trolls!

This short film consists of a mixture of timelapse and real-time sequences taken over the past 3 years in the Troms area.

Timelapse Travel: ‘Lone Peaks’ Of South America

Filmed and Edited by: Florian Nick

From giant icecaps far south to bone-dry deserts further north – I traveled 20.000 km across Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Peru for six months and was blown away by the variety of landscapes on this continent.

But one thing I found that all these climate zones have in common are those massive mountains rising high above their lands. May it be the majestic granite walls of Patagonia, perfectly shaped volcanos in the Atacama desert or some of the high alpine peaks of the Peruvian highlands.

Even though it only captures very few of them, this short timelapse film is a tribute to all those lone peaks in South America. There is still so many more to discover and photograph.

Timelapse Travel: ‘Saint Petersburg, Russia’ (Video)

St. Petersburg is a Russian port city on the Baltic Sea. It was the imperial capital for 2 centuries, having been founded in 1703 by Peter the Great, subject of the city’s iconic “Bronze Horseman” statue. It remains Russia’s cultural center, with venues such as the Mariinsky Theatre hosting opera and ballet, and the State Russian Museum showcasing Russian art, from Orthodox icon paintings to Kandinsky works.

Timelapse Walking Tour: ‘Belgrade – Serbia’ (Video)

This video presents the city of Belgrade and the most popular places of Serbian Capital. In this dynamic time-lapse video with ambiental sounds which provides an authentic experience, we follow a loving couple during their walk through the most important historical, cultural and popular places, and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the city.

Belgrade is the capital of the southeast European country of Serbia. Its most significant landmark is the Beogradska Tvrđava, an imposing fortress at the confluence of the Danube and the Sava rivers. The fort is a testament to the city’s strategic importance to the Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, Serbian and Austrian empires, and it’s now the site of several museums as well as Kalemegdan, a vast park.

Timelapse Travel: Night Sky In Arizona (4K Video)

This is a short trailer of the 30+ minutes of timelapse I shot in 2020 at locations in South Dakota, Wyoming and Arizona. It was shot with Nikon D850 cameras in still mode and rendered at 8K resolution. My past features have aired on the DirecTV 4K channel, a few are on Stingray Naturescape on Youtube. The Astrum feature may be available as a download in the future.

SpaceX Starlink satellites are visible in parking orbit right after the Feb 17, 2020 launch in several of the shots. They look like scattered stars that aren’t moving across the sky. Normally satellites will streak across the sky in timelapse..
