In this episode of the “Southern Road Trip” series, I visit White Sands National Park in New Mexico. My camp is a free campsite just outside of Alamogordo, NM (on BLM land). Inside the park I hike the 5 mile Alkali Flat Loop which is anything but flat. The cloud formations cast beautiful shadows on the dunes which made for a stunning day in the park. Approximately 12,000 years ago, the land within the Tularosa Basin featured large lakes, streams, grasslands, and Ice Age mammals. As the climate warmed, rain and snowmelt dissolved gypsum from the surrounding mountains and carried it into the basin. I have embarked on a road trip from Southern California to Florida (then back west) with lots of stops for adventure along the way. From the Southwest to the Southeast the plan is to seek warmer climates during the winter while living full time in my truck camper. This trip will be full of firsts as it is all new territory for me along my entire route. Come along for the ride!

Filmed and Edited by: Catherine Gregory
Come along on a road trip to the Eastern Sierra. I know that many viewers aren’t able to hike for varying reasons so I wanted to create a video of locations that are all accessible by vehicle (during the non heavy snow months). No hiking required. These are spots everyone can enjoy and all very beautiful….including 4 lakes within the June Lake Loop.
FULL-TIME CAMPER TRAVEL: A TRIP TO DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK (VIDEO)
Filmed and Edited by: Catherine Gregory
Death Valley is a favorite National Park to visit during the late fall and winter months. During this trip I hike a trail I’ve never hiked before. The Darwin Falls trail which takes me through a canyon into a desert oasis with a waterfall that flows year round. I also visit Badwater Basin and head to Mesquite Dunes to catch the sunset. But first I show you my free camp within the park boundary in the middle of a Joshua Tree Forest where I had the place to myself.
Full-Time Camper Travel: Catherine Gregory In The Eastern Sierras (Video)
Join me at my camp in the Alabama Hills of the Eastern Sierra. You’ll get a glimpse of my camp life/home life living full time in a truck camper. I am surrounded by the stunning scenery of the Sierra Nevada mountains with an amazing view of Mt. Whitney (the highest peak in the contiguous US). I’ll go about camp chores and town chores in the nearby town of Lone Pine. Come explore Whitney Portal Road to the top where there is a frozen waterfall. You don’t want to miss the gorgeous sunrise and sunsets I witness either!
