Hiking: ‘Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument’, Utah (Video)

Join us at Utah’s Toadstool Hoodoos located in the beautiful Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. We’ll take you along with us for a short hike and then show you the toadstool hoodoos. I was able do get some sweet drone shots too (permitted). Hope you enjoy the video! Late June, 2020.

The Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument is a United States national monument originally designated in 1996 as 1,880,461 acres of protected land in southern Utah. In 2017, the monument’s size was reduced by half in a succeeding presidential proclamation.

Travel & Hiking: ‘Dixie National Forest, Utah’

We spent the day hiking in beautiful Dixie National Forest which is located next to Bryce Canyon National Park. It was a pleasure to spend a day at this often unvisited location.

Dixie National Forest is a United States National Forest in Utah with headquarters in Cedar City. It occupies almost two million acres and stretches for about 170 miles across southern Utah. New Travel Videos: ‘Cañon Lands’ In Moab, Utah (2020)

Filmed and Edited by: Jem Moore

Footage from two trips to the Moab, UT area, I’ve always been fascinated by the shadows of clouds on the landscape in a time lapse. Music is from “Bonne Bay Suite” by Jem Moore on solo hammer dulcimer.

Moab is a city in eastern Utah. It’s a gateway to massive red rock formations in Arches National Park. Southwest, Canyonlands National Park features mesas and buttes carved by the Green and Colorado rivers, plus Native American rock art. Dinosaur tracks can be found at sites like Bull Canyon Overlook and Copper Ridge. In the city, collections at the Museum of Moab include dinosaur bones and archaeological artifacts.

Capitol Reef National Park is in Utah’s south-central desert. It surrounds a long wrinkle in the earth known as the Waterpocket Fold, with layers of golden sandstone, canyons and striking rock formations. Among the park’s sights are the Chimney Rock pillar, the Hickman Bridge arch, and Capitol Reef, known for its white sandstone domes. In the north are the towering monoliths of Cathedral Valley.

Top New Timelapse Videos: “Night Light” Produced By Arthur Cauty (2020)

Filmed and Edited by: Arthur Cauty

An exercise in light painting and parallax displacement to apply a 3D (or 2.5D) element to a series of still photographs captured after nightfall.

This film is comprised entirely of still images. All motion achieved in post production. The only time lapse shots are the star trails. All other shots are typically comprised of between 3 and 5 exposures of the same subject, but with different lighting in each, then blended together or transitioned between to give the effect of seamless motion.

The COVID19 pandemic forced me to put a number of projects on hold. Being unable to shoot anything new I took the opportunity to look back through my astrophotography and nightscape work from the past couple of years. I put this film together as a reminder of what exists outside my four walls and so others can enjoy the wonders of the night sky from their solitary confines.

Photographed at the following locations:
Arches National Park, Utah
Capitol Reef National Park, Utah
Joshua Tree National Park, California
Llanthony Priory, Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales
Dunraven Bay, South Wales
Dartmoor National Park, England
