Travel Video: ‘Autumn In Giethoorn, Netherlands’

No Music

A couple of years ago I have uploaded a video about summer in Giethoorn, which got many views. Now we have visited the village in autumn. This time there were not many visitors (also due to corona), even though I hope you will enjoy the video. The video is with original sound and music by Gheorghe Iovu.

Giethoorn is a mostly car-free village in the northeastern Dutch province of Overijssel. It’s known for its boat-filled waterways, footpaths, bicycle trails and centuries-old thatched-roof houses. It borders a section of the Weerribben-Wieden National Park, a marshy area once popular for peat and reed harvesting. Next to the park, Museum Giethoorn ‘t Olde Maat Uus is a farm museum illustrating the region’s history.

Travel Videos: ‘Feel The Mountains’ Of Norway

Filmed and Edited by: HALFDAN HALLSETH (Fjord Productions)

It’s hard to describe a feeling. This is how the mountains of Norway feel. To me.

The geography of Norway is dominated by vast mountain ranges broken up by valleys and fjords. Less than 10% of the country’s area is arable, and the rest is mountainous. Glaciers are the major cause for erosion, so the terrain in the Norwegian mountains consists of plateaus and lakes with peaks. These areas have an abundant and diverse fauna and flora.

The altitude of the treeline comes slowly down going to higher latitudes; in northern Finnmark, the treeline reaches sea level. The treeline is also lower near the coast, and higher on the eastern slopes of the mountains.

Mountain ranges also form the main boundaries among Norway’s districts. They typically run north-south. Several of the ranges have had road and railroad passes since historical times; some are newer; and many close over the winter.

Timelapse Travel Video: ‘ ‘Rotterdam, Netherlands’

Filmed and Edited by: Koen Samson

A time-lapse film about the city of Rotterdam starring the city’s most famous icon; the Euromast.

Rotterdam is a major port city in the Dutch province of South Holland. The Maritime Museum’s vintage ships and exhibits trace the city’s seafaring history. The 17th-century Delfshaven neighborhood is home to canalside shopping and Pilgrim Fathers Church, where pilgrims worshiped before sailing to America. After being almost completely reconstructed following WWII, the city is now known for bold, modern architecture.
