Aerial Views: Providence – Capital Of Rhode Island

Providence is the capital city of the U.S. state of Rhode Island. It’s home to Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design, whose RISD Museum displays American art and silver. Nearby, 18th- and 19th-century homes line the streets of College Hill. Waterplace Park is the backdrop for the WaterFire art installation, which lights up the surrounding tidal basin most nights in the summer and for special events.

Nihonbashi is a buzzing commercial quarter named for its landmark 17th-century canal bridge. The imposing Mitsukoshi Nihonbashi department store has been serving shoppers since 1904, while Coredo Muromachi mall has modern, stylish restaurants as well as shops for kimonos and lacquerware. The Tokyo Stock Exchange has a small museum and is surrounded by izakaya bars that fill up with off-duty traders at happy hour.

Fenghuang Ancient City, also know as Phoenix Ancient Town, is located in Xiangxi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, in southwest of Hunan Province. It is one of the smaller counties in Hunan, but now it is known as the most beautiful ancient town for its long history and well-preserved appearances. The name of Phoenix (Phoenix in Chinese Pinyin is Fenghuang) town mainly derived from the Phoenix Mountain which is in a phoenix shape.

The district of Old Sacramento harkens back to the city’s Gold Rush era, with wooden sidewalks and wagon rides. One of several museums in Old Sacramento, the California State Railroad Museum depicts the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad, one of the country’s earliest technological feats.
