Built on a rock above Wolfsklamm Gorge, on the remnants of a former hermitage, St. Georgenberg Monastery has an incredible cliff top setting with far reaching views across the Inn Valley, and is a real oasis of tranquillity.

Spoleto is a city in Umbria, Italy. It’s surrounded by hills, olive groves and vineyards. Dating from the 12th century, Spoleto Cathedral has a porticoed facade embellished by a mosaic. Inside is a cycle of frescoes by the medieval artist Filippo Lippi. The National Archaeological Museum complex displays items from the Bronze Age and Roman times. It also includes the restored Roman Theater.

Baden-Baden is a wealthy spa town at the edge of the Black Forest in Baden Württemberg. The town is located south west Germany, near the border with France – around 1 hour by car from Strasbourg.

Baden-Baden is famous for thermal bath and the Kurhaus complex (built in 1824) with the Spielbank (casino) where also Dostoevsky gambled during his 5 week stay which makes it a popular destination also for Russian tourists. We see the centre and the spa area on this walk among some shopping streets as well as the main sights like the Spielbank and Trinkhalle on this short walk.

Kichijōji is a neighborhood in the city of Musashino in Tokyo, Japan. It is centered on a compact but very popular commercial area to the north of its train station and to the south a little, with a full range of shops, restaurants, bars, and coffee houses.

New Walking Tour Video: ‘Ortaköy, Istanbul, Turkey’

Ortaköy (literally Middle Village in Turkish) in Greek known as Agios Fokas (Άγιος Φωκάς) in the Byzantine period and  Mesachorion  (Μεσαχώριον, meaning “middle village”) later, is a neighborhood, formerly a small village, within the Beşiktaş district of Istanbul, Turkey, located in the middle of the European bank of the Bosphorus.

Ortaköy was a cosmopolitan area during the Ottoman era and the first decades of the Turkish Republic, with communities of Turks, Greeks, Armenians and Jews. Today the neighborhood still hosts many different religious (Muslim, Jewish, Orthodox, and other Christian) structures. It is also a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, with its art galleries, night clubs, cafés, bars, and restaurants.

The Neo-Baroque style Ortaköy Mosque is a beautifully ornate structure, right on the jetty of Ortaköy, bordering the waters of the Bosphorus, and thus highly visible from the passing boats.

The main attractions are the numerous Baroque buildings and the castle, which is the 2nd largest in the Czech Republic (after Prague). In 1992 Cesky Krumlov was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. With around 15.000 inhabitants the tourists outnumber the locals during summer which we will see here on this walking tour.

Châtelet – Les Halles is a shopping district with chain stores along Rue de Rivoli, and the Canopée and underground Forum-des-Halles malls. Modern park Jardin Nelson-Mandela leads to specialty kitchen stores around Rue Montmartre, and the late-Gothic Église Saint-Eustache, where playwright Molière was baptized. The area is also famed for late-night eateries. The Seine-side Théâtre du Châtelet stages musicals.

Nearby, the National Azulejo Museum displays 5 centuries of decorative ceramic tiles. Just outside Lisbon is a string of Atlantic beaches, from Cascais to Estoril.
