City Walking Tours: Sofia – Capital Of Bulgaria (4K)

Sofia is the capital of the Balkan nation of Bulgaria. It’s in the west of the country, below Vitosha Mountain. The city’s landmarks reflect more than 2,000 years of history, including Greek, Roman, Ottoman and Soviet occupation. Medieval Boyana Church has 13th-century frescoes. Built by the Romans in the 4th century, St. George Rotunda Church has medieval and Ottoman decoration dating to the 10th century.

Zhuhai is a modern city in China’s southern Guangdong province, on the border with Macau. Transformed into one of China’s first Special Economic Zones in 1980, today the city is known for golf resorts, theme parks and islands off the Pearl River Delta. Pedestrianized Lianhua Road and the malls of Jingshan Road are popular shopping areas selling duty-free goods.

Lisbon is Portugal’s hilly, coastal capital city. From imposing São Jorge Castle, the view encompasses the old city’s pastel-colored buildings, Tagus Estuary and Ponte 25 de Abril suspension bridge. Nearby, the National Azulejo Museum displays 5 centuries of decorative ceramic tiles. Just outside Lisbon is a string of Atlantic beaches, from Cascais to Estoril.

Lyon, the capital city in France’s Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, sits at the junction of the Rhône and Saône rivers. Its center reflects 2,000 years of history from the Roman Amphithéâtre des Trois Gaules, medieval and Renaissance architecture in Vieux (Old) Lyon, to the modern Confluence district on Presqu’île peninsula. Traboules, covered passageways between buildings, connect Vieux Lyon and La Croix-Rousse hill.

Hoboken is a New Jersey city on the Hudson River. Its former industrial port now features parks such as Pier A Park, with Manhattan skyline views. The Hudson River Waterfront Walkway links several green spaces. Global eateries, bistros and bars cluster on Washington Street and riverside Frank Sinatra Drive, named after the locally born singer. The Hoboken Historical Museum has local art and history exhibits.

Walks: Campidoglio To Trevi Fountain, Rome (4K)

This Rome tour starts at the Campidoglio which is a hilltop square designed by Michelangelo. This square is lined with museums and offers views of the Roman forum. On our way to the Colloseum we pass the Forum Romanum ruins on both sides of the Via dei Fori Imperiali. Probably the most famous sight in Rome is the Colosseum which we almost circle around. We go uphill after the Parco San Gregorio al Celio. There we look around some more busy areas with cafés and restaurants, where the locals have their lunch. At last we get to the Piazza del Quirinale and Trevi Fountain, which is another famous sight and one of the most popular selfie backgrounds for tourist in this great city.

Walks: Aix-en-Provence In Southern France (4K)

Aix-en-Provenceis a city and commune in southern France, about 30 km (20 mi) north of Marseille. A former capital of Provence, it is the subprefecture of the arrondissement of Aix-en-Provence, in the department of Bouches-du-Rhône, in the region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. The population of Aix-en-Provence is of approximately 143,000. Its inhabitants are called Aixois or, less commonly, Aquisextains.

Walking Tours: Split In Southern Croatia (4K)

Split, Italian Spalato, seaport, resort, and chief city of Dalmatia, southern Croatia. It is situated on a peninsula in the Adriatic Sea with a deep, sheltered harbour on the south side.

A major commercial and transportation centre, the city is best known for the ruins of the Palace of Diocletian (built 295–305 CE). Collectively with the historic royal residences, fortifications, and churches in the city, the palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979. Pop. (2001) 188,694; (2011) 167,121.

Chenzhou, Mount Mangshan National Park, located in Yizhang County, Chenzhou, has the most intact subtropical primeval second growth forest and evergreen broad-leave forest in the world.

It covers 6,000 hectares, and contains both the northern and the southern plants. It has more than 300 varieties of animals. The yellow-breasted pheasant, sika deer, golden cat, and python are first-class state protected species. Mount Mangshan National Park is a complete forest museum with abundant rainfall and rich natural resources.

The Yao live nearby. Their home feature exquisite roofs and poling, finished wood windows, and picture plaques framing the main gates. Taken together these demonstrate unique primitive simplicity and elegance.

The King Pan Festival originated from the Singing Party that falls on October 16 of the lunar calendar (Usually the end of November on the Gregorian calendar), which is a grand Yao singing and dancing festival to worship their ancestors and celebrate the bumper harvest. Nowadays, the King Pan Festival has developed into an entertaining festival to celebrate the harvest, and is also an opportunity for young boys and girls to look for the one they might fall in love with.

Kamikōchi is a remote mountainous highland valley within the Hida Mountains range, in the western region of Nagano Prefecture, Japan. It has been preserved in its natural state within Chūbu-Sangaku National Park.
