Montreux is a traditional resort town on Lake Geneva. Nestled between steep hills and the lakeside, it’s known for its mild microclimate and the Montreux Jazz Festival, held in July. The town’s promenade is lined with flowers, sculptures, Mediterranean trees and grand Belle Époque buildings. Summer 2020 didn’t turn out as expected. All my Japan trips had to be cancelled. This was at the same time the perfect opportunity to travel across Switzerland and to get to know my beautiful home country a little bit better.
