The Cotswolds: A History Of The Village Of Naunton

Not far from Stow-on-the-Wold, the village of Naunton sits in a small valley along the river Windrush. Our travelling companion Herbert Evans didn’t have much to say for the place, but we still certainly found it to be a peaceful spot.

Several miles away from Winchcombe, the lovely village of Brockhampton, with country house Brockhampton Court nestles in the greenery. It’s another classic Cotswold hidden gem.

Brockhampton is a small village east of Cheltenham in Gloucestershire, England. It forms part of the parish of Sevenhampton. In the 2001 census the parish had 349 people living in 157 households. The source of the River Coln, a tributary of the Thames, is close to the village.

Nestling in the Evenlode Valley, sequestered down winding B roads but with its own railway station, Charlbury is a vibrant yet picturesque Oxfordshire town. A centre for festivals, full of welcoming pubs, and ideal for walking and cycling, there’s always something going on in Charlbury.

No more than a mile west of Woodstock, lies the small village of Wootton. On the very edge of the Cotswolds proper, this is a beautiful little village with a wonderful church, and lots of classic history and heritage.

Adlestrop is a village and civil parish in the valley of the River Evenlode in the Cotswolds about 3 miles east of Stow-on-the-Wold in Gloucestershire, England. The parish is on the county boundary with Oxfordshire. The River Evenlode forms the southwest boundary of the parish.
