There are many Venetian stone buildings in Montenegro. Their pretty red roofs stand out against the forests, mountains, and bright blue sea. Clay tiles have been used by roofers for centuries. They are practical and can last a hundred years! And they are the subject of our walk through Montenegro today – a symbol of serene and warm southern towns.

A mesotrophic lake, Lake Hibara was formed as a result of the July 15, 1888 eruption of Mount Bandai. The resulting debris avalanche created a natural dam that then filled with water, submerging Hibara Village.The remains of Hibara Village still lie at the bottom of the lake.

The dramatic cliffs and pinnacles of its Na Pali Coast have served as a backdrop for major Hollywood films, while 10-mile-long Waimea Canyon and the Nounou Trails traversing the Sleeping Giant mountain ridge are hiking destinations.
